I've never heard off this power unit / engine, what class is it from..?

You may guess our ideas for use of this but lets see if we can get a run out of it first!!

Although the main plate has mysteriously vanished, the block is stamped Engine No.220. Anyone with an idea of origin please???

Just a word of warning….Whisky and Ebay do not mix haha!!

By the fact its stamped NBL - Then i would say that it could be from one of the North British Locomotives earlier warships - Class 22?

Quick search aroun the net says that they were powerd by MANs:
D6300-D6305, NBL / MAN 1,000 bhp (750 kW)
D6306-D6357, NBL / MAN 1,100 bhp (820 kW

Fancy recreating a 22?

I suppose it's out of an original Class 43 warship then, is it? most interesting. Are they the same ones as used in the NBL type 2s? Either way, given the record for reliability of them, I wish them the very best of luck.

I think the clue is in the D800, which would suggest a Warship, not a class 22. I believe they weren't that unreliable in service.

As to what you do with it, let's wait & see?
