Liege Guillemins station in Belgium must be one of the great modern stations. The architecture is superb with every detail of the station from waste bins to the overhead supprt masts specially designed. Check out the images here

As a postscript can you imagine Newtork Rail doing something like ths - perhaps at Reading or Peterborough?

it looks nice, but it's not finished and it's completely impractical as it offers passengers very little protection from the elements, see also Salzburg Hbf & Vienna Hbf which are presently under construction.

My favourite modern stations are Berlin Hbf & Kassel Willemshöhe (bit like Blade Runner)

Looked finished to me and the overall roof is fully glazed so passengers stay dry. The only down side is the large opening to the city side which lets in the wind.
