Is anyone else worried by the fact that there currently seem to be very few orders for new rolling stock? In the five years from 2022 to 2026 (inclusive), we've had the following come into service:
99, 196, 197, 230, 231, 398, 701, 730, 756, 777, 805, 807 and 810.
In the five years from 2027 to 2031, we'll have (hopefully!) the first few vehicles of the Northern & Scotrail order, the LNER 897s and the HS2 order (even though it won't come into service for a long time!). There's also the ten extra 345s, but overall it seems like there will not be much work for UK rolling stock builders in the next few years, particularly in the first couple of years of that period. Am I missing some or are we likely to see factories temporarily/permanently shut down?
