Service Changes in Aberdeenshire and Moray from Monday 17th August30 Jul 2026 to 13 Sep 2026
We're making changes to services across Aberdeenshire and Moray from Monday 17th August to improve reliability, provide additional journeys where customers have requested them, and simplify parts of the network.
These include:
- New X10 service every 20 minutes between Aberdeen and Inverurie
- Service 107 extended to Aberdeen via Newtonhill and Portlethen
- Additional early morning journeys on routes to Peterhead and Fraserburgh
- More frequent daytime service on service 82 in Peterhead
- Reliability improvements across several routes including services 35, 64/64A and 201/202
- Some tendered local services withdrawn following contract changes

New and improved journeys
Service X10 – Aberdeen to Inverurie
The new service X10 will replace the current through journeys on services 64/64A between Aberdeen and Inverurie. Combined with service 10, this will provide journeys between Aberdeen and Inverurie up to every 20 minutes during the daytime. Changes to the Inverurie town section have been made to improve reliability.
Service 107 – Aberdeen, Newtonhill, Stonehaven and Montrose
Following customer feedback, service 107 will be extended to and from Aberdeen via Portlethen Berrymuir Road and Newtonhill. This will provide new direct links between Aberdeen, Newtonhill, Stonehaven and Montrose, as well as additional connections between Portlethen and Aberdeen.
Services X60, 61, 62 and X63 – Aberdeen to Peterhead
Additional early morning journeys will be introduced between Peterhead and Aberdeen on weekdays, providing more travel options before the morning peak.
Services X67 and X68 – Aberdeen to Fraserburgh
New early morning journeys will provide additional connections from Strichen, Fetterangus and Mintlaw towards Aberdeen, alongside an extra early morning trip into the city.
Services 69 and 69A – Peterhead, Fraserburgh and Rosehearty
The timetable will be revised throughout the day, with additional off-peak journeys to and from Rosehearty and St Combs, plus an extra morning journey from Peterhead to Fraserburgh.
Services 71 and 71A – Banff to Fraserburgh
A new timetable will provide journeys between Banff, New Pitsligo, New Aberdour, Rosehearty and Fraserburgh, including links to NESCol.
Service 82 – Peterhead Town Service
Buses will operate up to every 30 minutes during daytime hours from Monday to Saturday.
Changes to improve reliability
Service 4 – Aberdeen, ARI and Westhill
Early morning journeys will now operate over the full daytime route, with an additional afternoon round trip introduced from Westhill.
Services 5 and 6 – Aberdeen to Elrick
Additional weekday early morning journeys will be added. Evening journeys will be revised, and services will operate via the new Union Street Central corridor (once open).
Services 35 and X35 – Aberdeen, Buckie, Banff and Elgin
Timetables will be revised to improve reliability. All journeys between Aberdeen and Banff will operate as service 35, while daytime extensions to Banff Academy will be withdrawn due to low usage. Service 35 between ARI and the City Centre will follow the current X35 route and stopping arrangements between Aberdeen Union Square and ARI. Buckie High School will gain additionallinks, including journeys from Portgordon.
Services 64 and 64A – Aberdeen, Methlick and Ellon
Minor timetable changes will improve punctuality. Journeys will no longer extend to Inverurie, with these links replaced by the new enhanced X10 service.
Services 201 and 202 – Aberdeen to Braemar
Running times will be revised to improve reliability, with additional journeys to Ballater and Aberdeen at key times. Services will also return to serving Union Street Central, subject to the availability of the new stops.
Other service changes
- Service 10/M96 (Inverness – Aberdeen): Minor timetable corrections.
- Services 24A and 24C (Stonehaven Town Service): Renumbered from 4A/4C to avoid duplicate service numbers.
- Service 34 (Elgin – Bishopmill – South Lesmurdie): Revised timetable following network changes.
- Service 36 (Elgin – Dufftown): Timetable changes to improve school travel links to Craigellachie.
- Service 38 (Elgin – Buckie): Extended to provide an hourly daytime through service between Buckie and Elgin.
- Service 66 (Peterhead – Mintlaw – Stuartfield): Additional journeys to Stuartfield and improved links for Mintlaw Academy.Sunday journeys will be run another operator, Victoria Group.
- Service 206 (Aberdeen – Tarland): Minor timetable changes reflecting revisions to services 201 and 202.
- Service 218 (Aberdeen – Alford): Additional schoolday journey between Aberdeen and Alford.
- Service 220 (Aberdeen – Kemnay – Alford): Weekday evening journey extended to Alford and minor changes to improve punctuality.
Services moving to other operators
Following the loss of local authority tenders, the following services will no longer be operated by Stagecoach:
- Services 76 and 77 (Fraserburgh Town Service) - will now be operated by Watermill Coaches
- Services 81 and 82A (Peterhead Town Service) - will now be operated by Watermill Coaches and Victoria Group
- Service 83 (Peterhead Town Service) - will now be operated by Watermill Coaches and Victoria Group
- Services 84A and 84C (Peterhead Town Service) - will now be operated by Watermill Coaches
- Service 231 (Alford – Huntly) - will now be operated by Premier Coaches
- Services 301 and 303 (Macduff – Huntly) - will now be operated by Deveron Coaches
