A new live tracking map has been added on the website. https://www.lothianbuses.com/live-times/
I find that it has a really nice and useful interface and you can do anything related to planning your journey here with direct access to a journey planner and service alerts.

It does show buses, though obviously being intended for checking bus times there is no way to search for a specific vehicle or to view them all at once.
It's the best alternative for what was visual edinburgh before it stopped working however (if you have found your specific bus) given that it is able to display exact timings for stops ahead.

There has been one good outcome with that awful Fire on Princes street, the council has started repairing all the faults and issues with the road. I believe Scottish water will be out next week.

Maybe they got the idea from Network Rail getting lots of permanent way maintenance done while Glasgow Queen Street Central was closed after the vape shop fire.

Bus 93 has made it's way onto the 3 this morning, is there a decker shortage at Longstone? Single deckers on decker routes at said depot seems to a recurring theme these last few weeks.

Training buses 13-15 also are or were on double deck runs, so it does feel it.
Bus 93 replaced 561 which was then put on the 44 an hour later and bus 15 replaced 652.

The run bus 13 is doing on the 33 is the same run this time last week that was operated by bus 67, so perhaps this run is one that is specifically selected for single deckers when tight.

None of the normal crowed on here have said anything, Makes me wonder if they pushed the changes later into September?

Most talks on service change of any regard immediately gets disregard on here if a certain bus is on a certain route ;)

Do you expect East Coast will operate late journeys on the 120/121 this year for Fringe by the sea?

Update: I guess they aren't

I'm continuing to check on the registrations reguarly, and have been hearing of possible vehicle movements planned, so I presume it is going ahead. No idea if it is definitely September 6 or not.

Where are we now timetable wise in terms of the next arrivals of new vehicles?
I'm not privvy to inside information but going by what is on the public domain I would conclude that the Evoras and XLBs are ordered but the ScotZEB3 BZL/ADL and Wrightbus electric decker orders haven't been placed yet.

Even if arrivals are imminent I don't get the sense they would change what was happening timetable wise, as they all feel like stock replacement, not new vehicles for a new venture or service.

I heard a rumour that apparently Lothian are talking about withdrawing the 33 out of Millerhill and cutting back to Royal Infirmary, can someone here confirm this or am I getting fake news once again?! :D

I can only imagine them doing that if they intend to commence a new route between Royal Infirmary and Musselburgh, serving all of the new build housing in Millerhill and Old Craighall.

That does appear to be the preferred method for outlying areas nowadays, run various local routes to connect with arterial routes rather than offer direct connections. In any case, this post is probably better suited for the Speculation thread...

Tell me about it, it drives me nuts!

Like I said it was only just a rumour, and since a service change is in the cards soon it seemed appropriate to bring up in this thread! :p

The additional late journeys on 120 and 121 are not operating this year. However there is an additional journey on N124 at 23:45 from North Berwick.

Apologies, my reference to timetables just meant as in when we might see new vehicles rather than actual service timetables. sorry for the confusion.

No probs, I realised after I'd replied that I'd maybe misread the question but I didn't stress about it :D

I was watching an old video from around 2011. I note the Princes Street Stops looked rather different at this point. Quite different in fact to what we have now. Does anyone have an idea where I might be able to find a city centre stop map from that time? This would have been after the first closure of Princes Street, not long before the second one. I only have one from when Princes Street reopened the second time.

I don't but from memory they colour coded it so that I think green went towards Meadowbank and East Edinburgh, purple went towards Leith Walk and red went towards the Bridges. I could be wrong though. I think that they had the bridges services (or some of them) where the 24 and X47 currently stops (this is the first one on Princes Street eastbound). Again memory is a bit hazy so I may be incorrect.

The diversions for the 15, 33, 34 will be modified during 9am-8pm from July 9th and they will operate via Lauriston Place. It makes sense but, I wonder what knock on effect this will have to bus usage on other routes such as the 1 and how disruptive this will end up being for passengers.
The 43, 106, X6 will use Queen Street instead of George Street like the 100 from this date.
