Hi All,

I’m planning a visit here on 9 August but can’t seem to find their timetable on their website or what is likely to be running (other than it being a diesel), does anyone have any additional info please?

You say you found that it is diesel day so I presume you located the timetable page on the web site. If you mean "what times do the trains run" they are every half hour from 10:30, with a lunch break As to motive power, I don't know if any railway that tend to post the daily roster in advance. However it will be either and 08 or 03.

@50002Superb I have had a conversation with the web master and he points out the train times are in the FAQ's at the bottom. He will look at making this more prominent. Your comments have been useful. Sorry I was incorrect, the site opens at10:30 with the first train at 11:00

Many preserved railways do, the East Lancs and Severn Valley railways being two that I'm most familiar with. They update their websites and generally do the same on social media too.

Supporting groups such as those at the Llangollen Railway's diesel group are very active communicating what's running on social media.

Ok, that’s good to know, I am coming from the East Midlands so wanted to know roughly what time to arrive to get the first train, and didn’t notice it via the FAQ.

For some this is really important piece of information too.

I have the choice of visiting one of either the CVR, MNR or NNR on that day, and have already disregarded the NNR due to the lack of information on the website.

It’s already clear from the MNR website that it will likely be the 47 and the 142 working alternate services that day.

I did some brief research a few days ago. Over half of mainstream heritage lines publish a loco roster in advance.

Just wanted to say that I had an excellent morning out at the CVR on Sunday.

The 03 ride in the open air wagon was lots of fun and there is some interesting stuff at the station including the Victoria Line bits and the large model railway.

It probably only takes a couple of hours to do everything but was reasonably priced and the volunteers were friendly and happy to chat.

@50002Superb thank you for your post. Although we cannot extend the line we have a number of plans in place to add to the visitor experience, both for the enthusiast and the families that make up the largest part of our visitors.

Like most railways the constraints are finance and volunteers, any help is appreciated.
