Interesting Jason has just said they’ll show the halftime show in full. I thought before the tournament both channels said they weren’t going to bother showing it at all?

.
France are getting the Brazil-Germany treatment.
More likely to replicate the Newcastle 4-4 Arsenal fixture from a number of years ago at this rate, where Arsenal were 4-0 up at the break and Newcastle came to back to draw 4-4!

On the subject of betting, I would not be surprised if some serious match fixing is at play here.
it isn't fixing - it is just a pointless pseudo friendly that neither side cares about really. France were embarrassed in the first half and have turned it on/up in the second half. That's all. France brought on some of their big fellas at half time . England brought on Ollie Watkins. ( for Rashford who was having a good game)

Thanks to Mbappe's efforts, he now is the all-time world cup goalscorer and likely to take the Golden Boot for this tournament, especially if Spain do what they did to France to Argentina.

…And surely that is game set and match!

Everyone is happy
England in their best place since 1966
Mbappe in good standing for the golden boot
A fantastic game of football which everyone wrote off!

Any questions about if Bellingham has a large ego were quashed when he gave Saka the penalty opportunity for the hat-trick rather than take it himself.

$1200 for a ball? Should have gone to Sports Direct where Mike Ashley is knocking them out for about 12 quid plus a free mug :D

Did you put a bet on that when you said it?

What do you think is fixed?

But no way he was going to pass up that chance…

I have seen a similar game - on Football Manager. In keeping with my boycott of the tournament I wasn't watching but the rest of my household was and I could hear all of the commentary which is comparatively unusual!

It's a shame that Trump and Infantino have ruined the spectacle by their greed as England have done pretty well, all-in-all. Glad to see Saka get a hat-trick.

Yes, noting that there wasn't a 3rd place play-off at either of the 1930 or 1950 World Cup finals.

Also believe the winning team tonight do receive a bronze medal or medals. And USD29mln in prize money. (USD27mln for a 4th place finish).
Wasn't the 1950 World Cup decided by a final group stage?
$1200 for a ball?
When I heard that my only thought was 'How?!'

Anyone else hear Danny Murphy being told off for hitting his microphone after a missed chance for England? Anyhoo, that was definitely an experience. F**k defending, right?
