They're focusing a lot on West Yorkshire at the minute with franchising on the way as well. They'll also be trying for South Yorkshire I'd imagine.

Speaking of West Yorkshire, 1 Week to go and there's still no timetable for the 30 & 61/61A which Go Ahead is taking over. No mention of Go Ahead taking over the services on Metro website either. This is the second time Go Ahead have been late with publishing timetables for West Yorkshire, with the Eldwick services in May having timetables also published short notice.

EY also has changes listed with traffic commissioner from this weekend yet there's nothing about it on EY's website, yet alone new timetables.

The road through Bulmer on the 81 seems to have reopened with buses running through once more, but Bulmer is still absent in the Malton direction on Monday-Friday timetables only.

It's basically the same route as they have been running on Moorsbus most years for at least the last 25 years.
I'm not sure of the exact routeing, but I think there was a short period when it ran as ME1 when it was about 5 miles longer, starting from Hessle and then running via Willerby, Hull and Cottingham to Beverley and then up to Danby (but missing Driffield).

But the Dalesbus 822/875 knocks them both into a cocked hat, when in 2022 they ran a through service from Pocklington to Hawes, clocking in at nearly 95 miles, getting on for 15 miles longer than the ME1.

I'm not sure of the exact routeing, but I think there was a short period when it ran as ME1 when it was about 5 miles longer, starting from Hessle and then running via Willerby, Hull and Cottingham to Beverley and then up to Danby (but missing Driffield).

I think the route was Hessle-Anlaby-Willerby-Hull-Cottingham(via Beverley Road and Cottingham Road)-Beverley-Bainton-Wetwang-Malton-Pickering-Hutton le Hole-Danby

But is the M1/M3 combination the longest they have currently? I read it as about 79 miles using google as a guide

They have done that in the past where some concern was raised over the routes the bus was likely to go on - I remember years ago there was a three sided wrap but leaving the front in standard EYMS colours because it was felt putting it n a route with a lot of elderly passengers might make them let it go by because its not "their" bus

Summer timetable changes for our Anlaby Road Lines from Sunday 19 July 2026

From Sunday 19 July 2026, we'll be introducing some seasonal timetable changes to our Anlaby Road Lines services to reflect the start of the school summer holidays.

During the summer holidays, traffic levels across Hull reduce significantly as schools close and many people take annual leave. This means buses on the Anlaby Road corridor are often able to complete their journeys more quickly than they do during term time.

Rather than having our buses waiting unnecessarily at timing points or bus stops to keep to the existing timetable, we've adjusted some journey times to better reflect the lighter summer traffic. This means you can get to your destination a little quicker, while we continue to provide the reliable and punctual service you expect.

These changes are designed to make better use of the quieter roads during the school holidays, ensuring our timetables match the way the network operates throughout the summer.

Changes to Services 75 & X7 from Sunday 19 July 2026

From Sunday 19 July 2026, we'll be making some timetable changes to our 75 and X7 services.

The changes are designed to make your journeys quicker and more convenient, following significant improvements to traffic conditions across Hull.

Why are the timetables changing?
Over recent years, traffic conditions on routes into and out of Hull have been heavily affected by major roadworks, particularly the A63 improvement works and the Phase 1 works at Drypool Bridge.

When these projects were taking place, we used detailed journey time data to build timetables that reflected the additional congestion. This helped improve reliability by allowing enough time for buses to complete their journeys during periods of heavy traffic.

Thankfully, traffic conditions have now improved considerably following:

the completion of the latest phase of the A63 improvement works;
the end of the Phase 1 Drypool Bridge works; and
more consistent traffic flows across the network.
Our latest operational data now shows that buses are regularly completing their journeys much more quickly than before.

Getting you home faster
In recent weeks, many buses have been arriving early at timing points and then waiting for several minutes to keep to the published timetable.

Rather than asking customers to spend unnecessary time waiting at bus stops or sitting on buses that have already reached their timing point, we've updated the timetable to better reflect today's journey times.

The result is a timetable that allows us to:

get you to your destination sooner;
reduce unnecessary waiting at timing points;
continue delivering reliable and punctual services; and
make better use of the improved road network.
These changes do not reduce the level of service provided – they simply ensure the timetable matches the way the route now operates.

If you regularly travel on Services 75 or X7, please check the new timetable before travelling from Sunday 19 July 2026.

Some quite significant time saving on peak time Withernsea services from Hull, but during the day some services are just a couple of minutes quicker.

I've been on Anlaby Road buses towards the Interchange which have waited for up to 5 minutes at West Park timing point so it's good to see the timings revised.

Used EY tap-on-tap-off for the first time today; it's charged me the correct price and each tap on and off is showing the correct time, but bizarrely every journey has 'unknown' as the departure point and 'incomplete journey' as the arrival and none of the journeys shows a route number. Also, worth noting that the daily go anywhere cap is £9 but you can get a day ticket for £7.20 each by buying the flexi5 bundle on the app. The weekly fare is the same either way, but regular travellers will still be better off buying monthly tickets on the app as the tap cap is only weekly.

I had drivers strongly encouraging the use of Tap On Tap Off, although I noticed that there was some confusion about where people should "Tap off" at the end of their journey.

Yes, went for a ride this evening and it's a really nice bus. Working chargers at every seat and I personally am pleased to not have tables and the silly bike rack as there are more seats as a result. It must be the 'in thing' but no grab handles upstairs and the stop buttons are only on selected seat backs...I actually had to stand up and move to press a stop button. The branding is actually really nice, especially the rear....at least they've moved away from the rather rude 'ride deep'

Incidentally, both the single and double deck EV's Stagecoach are running in Hull have good air con. It's a shame EY have seemingly taken the cheaper option and left it to the Mk1 window on their EV's.

I believe that the EY vehicles do have air-conditioning but drivers don't seem to put it on however, I am wondering if EY is 'air cooling' for the saloon and stagecoach is air con?

EY Enthusiasts reports the following changes:
Wright Eclipse Gemini open top bodied Volvo B7TL 20893 is the last open top to enter the paintshop following refurbishment, all the others have received both repaint and branding.
Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B9TL 20772 has also received the Quickline wrap, joining 20730 & 20757.
ADL Enviro 400MMCs 20912 & 20913 have both been in the bodyshop this week seeing the removal of Castle Hill branding both inside and out.
All JustGo branded Mercedes Benz Sprinter Cities have had the JustGo branding removed and are sold.
Minibus Mercedes Benz Sprinter 20500 is reported in the bodyshop.

Tracking shows Procters Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 21054 running dead on services 82, 83, 84 & 182 today, possibly for driver familiarisation prior to the timetable changes tomorrow (including the extension to Fountains Abbey).

E200 MMC 20506 ran dead from Pocklington to Hull yesterday. Possibly for preparation before transferring to West Yorkshire for the 30 & 61/61A starting tomorrow?

Does anyone know if/when the additional Scarborough-Filey journeys on the 13 are starting? EY said:

Short journeys on service 13 between Scarborough and Filey will be introduced later in the season, with dates confirmed shortly.

Seasonal services return from 28th March!

From 29th March, we’ll introduce several service changes as we begin ramping up for the busy summer season
