I'm assuming this is to do with EMR's current less than ideal performance, and possibly the fiasco with the 222s potentially leaving without 810s having completely taken over, and that not wanting to tarnish the "image" of GBR. I don't know but I'd be interested to find out.

Wasn't it said that TOCs would need to meet certain performance thresholds to use the GBR branding? I wouldn't imagine this would have any effect in the short term though.

Given that as things stand the TOCs which although the majority of which are state-owned, are still functioning as private companies the previous brands will likely still be used until EMR is nationalised. GBR is a long way off being used.

Unlikely, definitely not in the short term.
The 810s (Auroras) are custom made for EMR, the 360s are in about the best place they could be given the low demand for EMUs.
The 170s have formed the backbone of EMR's regional fleet and are currently undergoing refurbishment, they work well for EMR and I don't see them going anywhere soon.
Maybe the 158s may go if a different operator replaces their Turbostars first, releasing them to go to EMR.

158s only have a short term future really. Not sure what will happen when they can't be patched up any more, but more 170s would make sense - if Chiltern replace their 168s at the same time as the 165s then there's a decent supply of turbostars that could go to whatever EMR becomes.

What is now EMR connects GBR's future HQ in Derby to London, and to "No10 North" in Manchester, so the services may get a bit more scrutiny in future. I just hope that doesn't mean Derby getting better service at the expense of Nottingham.

I'd suggest EMR are currently at rock bottom with multiple things all going on at once to create a perfect storm, but the 810s are on the way and regional fleet is getting the refurbishment it desperately needs, so with or without GBR, things should start to improve over time.
