As others have said, no, but Standard passengers can order a more limited selection of hot food items.
The hot food isn’t limited to First Class only, a reduced selection exists for Standard class.

Yes, that's more or less what I meant. Although on my last two trips - starting from Manchester - the conductor has come round well before the food orders were taken.
True, but it's not table service. You have to order it and collect it from the buffet counter.... unless the buffet is very quiet and the counter host offers to bring it to your seat.

Most of the hosts will wait for the guard to do a “sweep” before starting service and allow them to check first class and then begin taking orders
Ive noticed that. The twice ive upgraded the guard has come through before Newport to check tickets.
Sometimes ive had to wait until after Abergavenny for my Coffee. I was the last table to be served though to be fair.

Is the reason it can run through to Swansea this week because its booked a unit and therefore Canton are not taking 2 MK4s?
Seems very odd to change it back for a week otherwise.

If it ends up being a Mk4 later in the week I strongly suspect they’ll either adjust it by the night before or cancel it short at Cardiff to avoid the depot constraint issue.
I wish they’d consistently remove the timetable variation on days of substitution, given they have the paths.
Yes I agree. It would be good to run it through to Swansea on days it was a unit as at least passengers get an extra service going to Swansea, passengers travelling from Cardiff not just from stations on the Marches. The next Swansea service isnt until 2040 if the Swanline at 1951 is missed.

Which loco is on HD07 if I may ask, or is that locoless?
Also, 67025+HD04 on 1V46 has gone via Chester due to urgent repairs to the track taking place between Nantwich and Wrenbury.

Set 2 has a problem 
On my way to London today I saw (and heard, it is loud) the set going to form 1W13 and then saw that there was another set on Canton (1L01 goes via Ninian Park) and then the boards at Newport said 1W12 was 2-car. That will all be because a unit was needed for 1W11 and the obvious source is half of 1W12.
Luckily, I am not on the train to Manchester for a while. Depressing.

Honestly? Is that how you treat people who think that microfleets are a bad idea? I am sorry that people do not like it when the failings of the Mk4 sets are pointed out, but there is nothing trolling about identifying a horrible experience people on 1W11 and 1W12 would have had yesterday.
I thought it was a running joke on here that HD02 is a haunted set. I had it fail on me twice in two weeks, including a 3-hour-plus delay when 1V62 failed immediately on departure from Piccadilly. I think that my Mk4 experience fully allows me to suggest that it was not acceptable.
Some people are too precious. Look up the interpretation of trolling because it is not appropriate here.
The other bad decision from TfW and their predecessors was maintaining / continuing to maintain 197s at Chester, the depot is too small to process such a large fleet. That is not a Mk4 issue though.
It would be helpful if these posts were kept on topic. We don't need to know about your grumbles of 197s, shortforms or TfW in general. This topic is for mk4s only. Perhaps make a new topic if you wish to continue your gripes?
