Currently stuck at Kilby Bridge Jn (just south of)
Awaiting a tech 8 mins away.
Sat here for about 40 mins now.
No air con.

It could have been arranged the the next units 810022 1B49 to attach and assist.

But they ran it past us.

Not good.

Presumably Kilby Bridge Junction? Pity that it couldn’t stop until it reached the two-track section (beyond the end of the bi-di third track).

Surely one would first expect a tech to examine to see if train can be restarted, especially if they are that close? Pushing/dragging failed train is not always a straightforward operation! That said, if aircon is off, one would hope that the train would get priority for recovery/detrainment if loss of power continues. Let's hope there's some speedy action!

Perhaps a comment for one of the main Class 810 threads rather than this one but as a regular user of the Sheffield-St Pancras route I find it extremely disturbing that a modern bi-mode unit with multiple traction motors that had been speeding along on diesel one minute and then just grind to a halt as an inert lump of metal and glass under overhead wires but unable to raise the pantograph even to just provide air conditioning the next minute.

A lot will come down to what the onboard software detects and does/doesn’t want to do.
