I think a few paths may go in for this week or next week for the return of the following:

156509
320416
334024

I also suspect 3 paths will go in to Wolverton

As suspected path in this morning for a move from Wolverton to Yoker.
I suspect it will be 320416 coming north

Looking at what is out today suspect 320401 may go south tomorrow but 403/404 may go

334024 seems to have been away long time now. I wonder if there are more issues than expected?
Path in for Tuesday for the return of 334024 from Wolverton.
Another story if it runs

Any update on 158716 please. Also 158737 seems to have been out of service for some time. Does anyone know where and any potential release date?

Ah. That explains it! Thanks so much.
Shown in Rail123 (2025) as both at Corkerhill and Salisbury carriage number wise!
Yep... 158737 was released by Scotrail out of number sequence from the others so maybe overlooked.

Can't help with 158716... was trying to track it down last week myself! Hopefully someone else will know what the latest is.

716 is definitely back in Inverness apparently in worse condition than when it left....

What did it even go to Kilmarnock for? Can't have been for a C6 surely, given 703 is also there having it and 716 was only there for a month

It might have been back for a while but 156509 was looking very shiny in Glasgow Central this evening.

334013 not due to re-enter service until December 2026 at earliest according to a ScotRail foi
Blimey. At least two years off by then, if the date doesn't slip again.

Likely a record for this class in recent years. Can anyone enlighten me as to why it's been off for so long and why it'll be another 5 months before it (probably) returns? Checking back through older posts reveals it was involved in a incident at Yoker but nothing else. Given that I've not got much to go off of (I don't usually like speculating), I presume it was a shunting mishap of some kind?

It's just listed as "materials required". Probably having donated parts to get other 334s back in service quicker.

I did suspect that was the case like other 334s before it. It's that the length of time it's been off stood out to me and I (clearly wrongly) thought it was something more serious than it just being like a Christmas tree for the rest of the fleet while waiting for it's turn.

I’m sure 334013 had an explosion of some kind. Remember reading about a very loud explosion at Yorker which was heard over quite a distance away. I will see if I can dig up any more details.

Edited to add. Capacitor exploded overnight 18/19th October 2024 which blew a door off.

The FoI response from ScotRail, dated 22 June 2026, states:

334013 requires a replacement PMCF case after the on-train case sustaining damage as a consequence of a capacitor failure. The damaged case was removed and returned to the manufacturer for repair with the estimated time for its return during December 2026.

Upon its return, the PMCF case will be fitted to the unit and it, along with all other systems that have not been operational due to the unit being out of service, will be fully tested. When all systems are fully tested and any outstanding work streams associated with the unit are completed, the unit will be returned to service.
