Having travelled through Russian gauge land, Finland and the Baltics, you really do notice the more generous loading gauge.
When a standard gauge (and the ‘typical’ associated loading gauge) train operates in Russian gauge land, does it need dedicated platforms? Can a standard gauge train share an interlaced track and platforms in an otherwise Russian gauge environment? What current precedents are there?
Happy to be directed to an old thread if it exists.
Thanks all.
