I maybe mistaken if course, but from the train it looked like a new Network Rail-style structure with welded green-painted square-section railings welded to the girders. If I'm wrong then it's amazing how many evils you can conceal with a lick of green paint!
It's possible some small work like that took place and I never noticed - and there weren't any obvious clues like a temporary speed restriction. I'm not the most observant! But if the messroom rumours were true, it needs a big replacement job to be fit for 67s at 90.....

Edited the post. 67025+HD07 pined CRE-MAN on 1Z24, meaning 1K74 also pined (cheers @37052 xb mr). 1W97 pined SHR-HHD: currently 156 min late, 67012+HD04 expected to work 1W98 SHR-CTR vice (1W98 pined CDF-SHR, 197032 CTR-HHD, 67012+HD04 allocated 5D99).

Well what's happened with it then? That's what a friend of mine told me, who's was on 1W97 until around a quarter of an hour ago... which was behind it...

They'll use that one to minimise diagram disruption. Starts at Crewe, ends at Crewe. Once a set becomes available again at Crewe the diagram will then be filled again, normally how this sort of thing goes.

Will be all day, 3 sets visiting Crewe ETD, HD02 there for repairs to damaged gangways, HD05 for underframe checks after hitting the obstruction last night and HD06 heading for tyre turning. 2 are planned back tomorrow so should be back to normal for Thursday.
Was allocated 197019 earlier on in the day, but it is now 67012+HD04.
