Remedy when first Super off peak train cancelled

I'm travelling up from Nailsea to London this morning and the first SOP service (0947) is cancelled. Is there any provision to use that ticket on an earlier service or do I just have to suck it up and buy the more expensive OP ticket if I still want to get to Paddington no later than my original plan?

Does Great Western not have the policy that if your intended train is cancelled, you can use either of the previous two trains, or either of the next two trains?

I thought that had now been standardised across TOCs, but I might be wrong.

GWR policy is that you can travel on the two services before or after your original service, even if they are peak.

Sometimes, we will have to cancel trains or make changes to the train service, which may affect your journey.

When this happens, you can travel on one of the two services immediately before or after your original train. If you have a connecting journey, we will provide additional flexibility to help you complete your trip.

What happens if the next train is a peak service or less flexible than my original service?​

If the two services immediately before or after your original train are peak services or less flexible, you can still travel with your original ticket.

Please be aware that other services may be busier than your original journey and we recommend making a seat reservation.

Thank you! For interest I used brfares to buy the ticket. My first experience with it, and very smooth and easy to buy a ticket not linked to a particular service.
