It is reported within the rail industry that the MML south of Bedford is likely to remain blocked all this coming week.

Therefore, shuttles using loco-hauled stock (one GBRf and one WCRC) are planned for the Bedford - Bletchley route to give additional capacity for intending passengers to reach London.

These are in addition to the booked Class 150 units, giving additional capacity, and will run non-stop end to end.

66759 and 57303 top n tail one set already confirmed.

Update: these additional turns will commence Tuesday now.

Will this be with slam door stock or sliding door stock , I didn't think slam door stock was permitted in passenger service anymore due to PRM restrictions.

The Night Riviera ‘sleeper’ still runs with slam-door stock.

As long as the doors have locks activated by the Train guard then they are allowed

Will these diagrams be peak hours only as they're intended for commuters , or will it be all day loco hauled ?

Do we know when till? Probably week or so i’d guess depending on how quickly it gets cleared.

Hopefully visit on Saturday if its still running then, this hasn’t happened since the 90s!

Line blocked until at least Friday; then Saturday and Sunday it is already closed due to preplanned engineering work.

It's just been posted on se-gen that this plan has been cancelled.

Can't quote as such as it's an e-mail group. Best I can do is a screenshot with the e-addresses blocked out.

With the short platforms it would be very difficult to use an 810.
Not exactly. Bedford would have a platform available, and Bletchley platform 5 tends to be quiet. Its just Bedford’s capacity really. As 700’s do need to use it.

I don't know how serious this plan was but cancelling it seems sensible.
I doubt 50 year old stock would have coped with temperatures well in excess of 35C.

Don't know if it's truly cancelled or not , there seems to be VSTP GBRF moves to Great Yarmouth and back to Leicester to collect rolling stock , although I can't see any onward movement to Bedford or Bletchley from there.

I Guess you'll have your answer depending on if these run or not.

I mean there's a 57 at Leicester currently and a bit of rolling stock I last saw when it was visible, 57 still seems to be there as I was just there.
