There is plenty in Bristol they could be used on, but they're just not currently First services. The section of the 16 between Redfield and Broadmead would likely benefit from something smaller.
Yeah but do you really want that for the 16? It’s funny watching videos of the 16 getting stuck to be honest.

I'm more a fan of a functional transport network than valueless ragebait videos where somebody has deliberately parked awkwardly to mess bus services up, but each to their own.

Seem to be getting more confident in ranges now, 71069 has done an A4 and back, and now a 39! (Saw it heading out on the A4, in service, not a mistrack)

A little query for anyone who might know. Suggestions are that LH gets 116 new electrics. Firstly is that right?
All Yutong deckers? Presumably 30168-30283? Or some singles?

If that is 116 deckers, surely that means LH will be solely electric and gas for deckers?
Does that mean the Scanias 36801-24 move out of LH? Maybe to Keynsham to displace E400MMCs to Bath and withdraw the classic E400s?

Anyone know what the situation is in Bath with the fleet? 12 E200EVs to replace 12 E200s?? Presumably all of the solos will go elsewhere (Glasgow?)? And presumably the couple of B9s and some E400 classics withdrawn from the repowers?

To my knowledge, there are 113 Yutong U11DDs coming - split between Hengrove and Lawrence Hill. Hengrove have received all of theirs (to complete the conversion of HE to electric alongside three more Yutong E12s), 30127-67. 30127-50 are in Westbus green and have joined last year's deliveries on HE routes, 30151-67 are for the A1.

I would suspect that the 72 Yutong U11DDs due for LH, and the 27 Wright StreetDeck NewPowers for Bath will see off all remaining B9TLs first, either by direct replacement or cascades within WoE.

Hmm. See the only reason I say 116 is because First say that in their article: https://news.firstbus.co.uk/news/first-repowers-west-of-england

It doesn't look like any figure tallies up right. Nothing works out as 160 plus the 91 previous electrics. And I'm under the impression that the airport fleet is under a separate order? Presumably paid by the airport?

Bristol got 116 - 113 deckers and 3 singles (65171-3)
But it doesn't say that in the article - it says 116 due for LH in the autumn. I suspect you're correct though

So 160 new electrics - 27 repowers, 113 Yutongs for Bristol, 7 singles for Bristol/Weston, 17 ADLs for Bath.

That comes to 164 - maybe the 4 for Weston weren't included in the 160 figure?

Sorry but this is all quite confusing and every article says something different

I think it’s the punctuation/wording on the 116 that is confusing…

116 on the Bristol network out of the Lawrence Hill depot from the Autumn, and soon-to-be 100% electric depot at Hengrove in south Bristol.
Basically 116 on the Bristol network split between LH (in the autumn) and HG (sooner than that to become 100% electric).

Is the 160 figure in another article? In the press release, it does seem to tally to 137 new vehicles (116 Bristol Yutong, 4 Weston Yutong, 17 Bath ADL) and 27 repowers for Bath totalling 164.

Hengrove seems to be fully electric since the last few Yutongs arrived as all of the B9s have moved out. The 160 figure is what's quoted on various Zebra funding articles and it's also included in that article at the bottom in the editor notes

160 is on every article - it was originally 6 single decks, 127 double deck and 27 re powers, so plans have obviously changed. 258 was the combined total quoted (24 (WM) + 74 (HE) + 160) in April 2025.

Hengrove has been all electric for about a month now.

If you read the ‘notes to editors’ you’ll see it’s regurgitated from when the order was announced last year and all those routes were operated by Lawrence Hill, prior to the April 5th changes this year.

Looking at numbers it looks like LH have had their decker allocation reduced and Bath will get ‘an extra 17 new electric buses’ according to the press release on the First website. Perhaps this changes has allowed 4 additional buses with the allocated funding?

The 17 for Bath are the E200EVs and E100EVs

I’d not read the editor notes just the article itself.

The 160 relates to Bristol and Bath which does check out (ignoring the 4 for Weston).

In other news, Bath’s e200s are heading to First South Yorkshire - tbh, they’re hammered!

And they’re not even being sent off to somewhere nice and flat to have a quiet retirement.

I was wondering where 37603 went as it was one of my favourite buses in Bristol, I thought it was in Bath but it also went to South Yorkshire!!

I’ve just read all of this:

HG’s extra E12s were funded by the uni so not part of the original order

The Airport yutongs were not part of the original order as they were airport funded, not government funded

The enviros are a separate order so not included either.

I think with the list of routes to be electrified, around 110 for LH sounds about right

The electrification lists of course

Bath list is interesting too, none of the current routes the E100s are on are on there, can imagine some people might be unhappy with the loss of the nice buses!

That’s because the enviro order is separate, if you had decided to read what I said

Was just a comment on the list you sent, not sure it warranted that reply, and even rereading I do not think it is at all clear in the slightest that the list you sent doesn't relate to the Enviros, especially being a separate post.

Begs the question, if the E200s are going to S Yorks, what’s going to work the 2. No weight restriction nowadays, but length is an issue through Combe Down, I should have thought.

I'd imagine the e100's unless there's more on order

The way I'm reading it is 1 and 5 will be E200EV. 6/7/8 will be E100EV. 2 and 13 presumably continue as E200s. There's only 12 E200EVs coming, so not all of the E200s can be replaced. There's also got to be one for 373
