Yes I was skeptical. I came about a minute from seeing what was reporting as it on bustimes on my way home this morning and it was then taken out of service.

Having had another look at the tracks I'm pretty certain they must've just been doing testing. They weren't following the full routes, when they were doing the U2 they weren't even going to Brougham Hayes
Another Streetdeck repower at Bath is 71068 ISZ6718.
B9 37239 looking very forlorn in cannibalised state at Bath depot but I’d not put money on 33840 having a long life either. Looks like parts being robbed off that at the moment.

The streetdeck repower failed this afternoon on a U3, driver didn’t say what the issue was but kicked everyone off at Dorchester Street and went out of service.
57102 turned up on my bus home today! Absolutely amazing contrast to the other buses, aircon was a saviour and looked super smart. Was absolutely flying up the hills too, the Optares barely make it up them.
I thought it was a mistrack but repower 71069 is indeed out on X39's today.
Quite a pleasant ride, but you'd think given how extensive the refurbishment was they'd have cleaned the sticky residue from the remains of adverts on the cove panels. Didn't look the tidiest inside.
Also, having then been on a B9TL straight after it is staggering how much bigger the windows are and how much cooler inside it was even in this heat.
I think they'll be sorely missed when they're gone.

I found the opposite on the B9TL's if I'm absolutely honest, the bigger windows made my experiences in hot weather the equivalent to a human greenhouse. I'm so glad that Hengrove is all Yutong now and they all have A/C. Nothing better during warm spells!
Massive shame about the 77. Appreciate it isnt the best route or that well used but it was one of the few links between Gloucester road and Clifton Down (yes you can get two buses but that is double the price, and the 71 is infrequent and doesnt count to tap on tap off limits).
And with the 8, isnt that only a single decker because of the stop it uses at tenple meads? If its no longer serving there doesn't that make a whole load of new electric single deckers pointless?

As for the 8... they can still use the single deckers. I know there is a clamour for every route to be a decker but with a frequency uplift, it'll be fine.

Nope, the recent batch of 26 plates for Hengrove should have suggested a frequency uplift was incoming, but we took no hint. The 8 now has no choice to remain single decker as the E12s are 11ft and the bridge is about 12ft, so a double just won’t work.

Due to the 77 being cut the 8 is getting hourly overnight service on Fri/Sat nights from 5 June
Nope, all the 77 journeys are being cut for the university summer, alongside the Bristol U1/U1N and Bath U1N/U2/U5

I saw a bunch of night 77s and I question the point, the U1N serves the university places and the 75/76 are on Gloucester Road. In fact I'd usually see N77s within minutes of a 75/76 with plenty of room and buses leaving Horfield Common would just carry fresh air
There is plenty in Bristol they could be used on, but they're just not currently First services. The section of the 16 between Redfield and Broadmead would likely benefit from something smaller.
