Just curious - Train observed passing Woking 4 early at 10:04. No times shown on Realtime Trains between Byfleet and New Haw and Clapham Junction. This distance covered in 26.5 minutes (scheduled 66.5 minutes via Richmond). Suggests train must have run via Wimbledon and Southfields. Also, RTT oddly shows a platform alteration to Platform 2 (Windrush Line) at CLJ. Don't believe this can be accesssed from the west! Can anyone confirm if this route was followed and update me if the layout at Clapham Junction has changed. Also has a Class 69 previously visited the section between Wimbledon and East Putney?

It ran direct on the SWML, passing Surbiton at 10.20 and Wimbledon at 10.29.

and update me if the layout at Clapham Junction has changed.

The train passed through Clapham yard to gain access to the diveunder to Factory Junction;
I presume that's what triggered the report at platform two at Clapham Junction!

Thanks for the above which, I presume, confirms it used the District Line route through Southfields. Yes, I know the route is regularly used by SWR for two passenger journeys (more in emergencies) plus ecs moves. Didn't realise it was otherwise available for National Rail journeys.

As far as I'm aware, it didn't run via East Putney - it ran 'direct' from Wimbledon to Clapham Junction
(platform 7), from where it was able to use pass through Clapham yard to gain access to the Ludgate lines.

it went via Earlsfield and the Clapham Yard ‘ladder’ due to a defect with the points at Addlestone Junction which resulted in them being secured for passenger train movements to/from Weybridge.
