Unfortunately its seems there is systematic failures with information/bus destination displays and next stop announcements not working, drivers and controllers in Hull are fed up of the way the company is and alot are looking to leave when speaking to them. Doesn't Unfortunately seem to be a quick fix for the company.
Thats something I've heard also... Quite a few have been spotted getting medicals for Stagecoach employment (something I have been able to confirm myself personally) and saying that it used to be a happy company unto Go Ahead got EYMS and started to, in the words of one driver who has been there twenty years, "Suck all the joy like a vampire" out of the firm with managers making bonkers decisions, depots stealing buses off drivers mid-route such as the X46 so they can have a prepared bus for schools and a commercial manager that instituted - or attempted thereof - a policy of using them/their in all communications with drivers even though they have indicated their preference for binary designations.

I happened to have to go to Anlaby Road depot yesterday to collect a wallet I had left on the bus (a rare thing I haven't done for years) and the office member that brought it out to me asked what I planed to do and I said gardening "Kind of like your commercial manager I suppose" and they without any hesitation said "He's not the only one soon"

Its so sad to see a great and wonderful company become a bitter and twisted shell of its former self

Edit: Do we know when they reated hearing will be at Quarry House?

Go Ahead announced the Bradford services roughly a month ahead of the launch. They've ordered Evoras for the services but these haven't all arrived and none have entered service. Perhaps they arrived later than Go Ahead anticipated so they had to transfer vehicles over from East Yorkshire.

What did surprise me for the Bradford services was how late they left publishing and uploading timetables on the EY website (the Go Ahead West Yorkshire website is still yet to launch) and to Metro. Next Stop Indicators weren't updated as a result of the information arriving so late. I would've expected better from Go Ahead regarding this.
Considering the “Go Ahead West Yorkshire” brand will have a relative short life, I wonder if there is any real point in it having its own website. Especially as due to the secondary nature of the services and the lack of brand recognition, most punters will just use the metro website. Most visitors will probably be enthusiasts!

If folk get upset by that then it isn't management that is the issue...

Announcements not working isn't isn't surprising. In April, Evolution 20392 had screens advertising "upcoming service changes from November 2024" nearly 18 months(!) out of date. The earlier E200 MMCs and most of the EvoSeti fleet (all are under 10 years of age) don't even have onboard announcements and screens fitted in the first place. USB chargers onboard the Eastrider E400 MMCs usually aren't working either.
Considering the “Go Ahead West Yorkshire” brand will have a relative short life, I wonder if there is any real point in it having its own website. Especially as due to the secondary nature of the services and the lack of brand recognition, most punters will just use the metro website. Most visitors will probably be enthusiasts!
As part of the launch of the Bradford services, Go Ahead announced the following:
A New Digital Experience

We are also excited to announce that a brand-new Go-Ahead West Yorkshire website and mobile app will be launching soon.

As we transition Go Ahead West Yorkshire from the EY Buses platform, the new website and app will continue to offer all the journey planning and service information you expect — along with new and improved features, including:

Mobile ticket purchasing
Enhanced journey planning tools
Real-time service updates

Agree that most people will just use Metro as they probably do for all other buses they use but Go Ahead seems to want to diversify their West Yorkshire brand as separate from their East Yorkshire brand.

I think someone on here has a rather unhealthy borderline obsession with a well respected and experienced bus industry professional. The director in question has years of experience in West Yorkshire, York, and East Yorkshire too and I think that trying to pin all of EY's 'failings' on someone who has seemingly successfully expanded the business is potentially a little outlandish. They've manage to expand the business not just in geographical size, but also things like the York - Pock - Bev - Hull corridor - not that long ago this was 1 bus an hour and ended early evening, now it's 4bph York - Market Weighton, 2 continuing to Hull, running until nearly midnight, etc.

'Depots stealing buses off drivers to run a school service' - School contracts are the utmost highest importance contracts. If you have X running boards at a depot, and X+10% buses (usually) but have more than 10% off for whatever reason (maybe an accident or two plus some MOT prep), then logically you now have less buses than running boards. Dropping a bus off a 4bph service (fx) to run a school service is good management and judgment. You don't strand schoolkids, simple as that.

Any business that goes from being locally owned/run to part of a national group will see things get tightened and standards changed. At FirstYork when we were self-ran we used to get away with murder. Want to send a bendybus on a route 'just because'? Go for it. Want to divert off route to drop someone at their front door? Go for it. Want to completely sack off the timetable and put some extra buses on P&R and run it turn-up-and-go? Go for it. When York became managed by Leeds all of this stopped. Yeah it sucked because we couldn't get away with things anymore, but equally that's how it goes sometimes.

Also ffs, using neutral rather than binary terms in communication is nothing. If anything, it means you can have one standard template and just change a name rather than having to worry about pronouns/possessives as well.

Minor note, it's 4bph York - Pocklington, 3 continue to Market Weighton with 2 of those continuing to Hull (X46) and 1 to Driffield (X45) during Monday-Saturday day times. This was part of the standardisation of the A1079 corridor in September 2025.

According to bustimes as long as 20933 had spare hull 10 still, it’s on the x46 to York right now

Bustimes had Levante 20008 tracking on the X47 last Sunday. I'd be very surprised if either happened, especially 20933 as EY will likely want to iron out any issues with the electric fleet before sending them out on a 4+ hour return trip to York and back.

It was stated when the electrics arrived that they wanted to test them on the longer runs like the X45/46/47 and X7 to see how they held up. This will have been a deliberate and planned allocation
It was due to a shortage of buses the controller needed a bus an electric was available with enough charge and as the york buses are becoming increasingly unreliable day in day out the A1079 hammers the buses and unfortunately the buses are showing it ive heard from a reliable source that Go Ahead at group level have agreed the business case and funding for eleven new diesel buses for the X46/X47 as it classed as the most profitable route for EY.

Accepting all your points said person has been called, with others from the company, to a hearing with the Traffic Commissioner. Clearly things don't appear to be as wonderful as you suggest.

Some of the best managers in the bus industry have appeared at PIs. Such an invitation is not necessarily an indication of wrongdoing and it may well be the EY has satisfied the TC at a preliminary hearing that there is no need to hold the PI.

B7RLE Centro 20361 has transferred from Compass Royston back to East Yorkshire. Metrocity 24039 has transferred from Procters to Fourways.

Well, this is a turn up for the books

Instead of the usual bus from the 92x stable, 97 is running the M1/M3 today. Asked the driver jokingly if this was EY's apology for last week and he replied that management have instructed that either 96 or 97 be allocated to the services now

Is there any particular reason they are running those over the usual Eastrider MMCs?

The Eastrider MMCs are proving to be quite unreliable on Moorsbus and on the X46/X47 both this year and last year. Evidently the two Coaching deckers are seen as more reliable so EY is using them on Moorsbus in the hope of reducing breakdowns on the route.

Makes sense. One would imagine they don’t usually get pushed as hard

20938 is mistracking, I saw it on 58 when bustimes says its on 25...

No idea what is actually doing the 25, but I'll provide proof of it on 58 when I sort my pictures
Here is a picture of 20938 doing 58 when bustimes claimed it to be on the 25

Got quite a lot fewer miles on the clock too I suspect so not as clapped out - mentioned by the driver to myself and others... Have to say that it was a nice change to have both functioning wifi and power supply and it was stunning to see at Pickering. Heck, it even managed to arrive five minutes early back at Interchange

Well, I suppose its only a few hours now to see if its 97 again or if 96 is coming out to play. Incidentally, why does 96 have curtains?

Looks like it's 97 again today. I felt the same when riding EvoSeti 20816, working WIFI and USB chargers onboard unlike on the rest of the EvoSeti fleet.

If that's the case, then maybe the existing MMCs for the route could be reallocated to somewhere like the Withernsea 75/X7 and the Evosetis used currently on that route could be debranded and used on any other routes in general?

I assume 96 was a demonstrater vehicle, hence the curtains. They serve no purpose as there isn't any way to keep them open!

East Riding Council have issued a press release about the Wolds/Spurn Explorer services.....two months after the services began, but that's quite speedy for ERYC in my experience:lol:

I see EY are promoting the 100 open top service on their website....however, the pdf timetable is seven years out of date.

The tap-on-tap-off info EY have put on their website is useful and comprehensive, although it seems rather odd to have all that information but no 'go live' date.
