What is the greatest number of consecutive stations we can find where each starts with the same letter? For example on the Swanage Railway Herston Halt then Harmans Cross.
Stations must be connected by track. The full names of stations should be used - so London stations must use the word 'London'. Reversals are permitted, as is going down a different line at a junction station. However, you must reverse at a station which you are using - you cannot reverse between stations, or not include the station you are reversing at. It is also acceptable to skip stations where the calling pattern of a timetabled service skips them. For example you could skip from Three Bridges to Gatwick Airport, or East Croydon to London Bridge, or Falmer to Brighton. Heritage Railways and Metros are permitted. Narrow gauge or miniature is fine. We can also allow closed railways or closed stations on railways which remain open. Request stops / Halts can be used, or skipped, as is most helpful for the greatest consecutive run. Stations in the same town or which share the same first word are also permitted. Only stations within the UK for the sake of this thread.
Another example I have thought of is Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells.
On the Northern Line, Clapham South, Clapham Common, and Clapham North.
Cooden Beach and Collington.
