Was looking at flights to MUC, £427 from EDI to MUC. Must be a reason for this crazy price. I checked and the World Cup is not on in Germany!

Looks weird - 3 June is £70, 6 June £407, 8 June 246, 10 June £79. Must be virtually sold out on the 6th.

Are there any major D-Day commemorative events near the destination?
bit unlikely! Presumably though it will be related to an event in the Edinburgh area just before on in the Munich area just after those dates. End of Bavarian half term as well, perhaps?

Could be related to some kind of event that the public would most likely know nothing about? Even quite a small event could involve booking 100 or more seats on a plane for people involved.

It’s the Munich Carnival that weekend, with a big street parade on 7th (a little bit like the Notting Hill carnival).

However floghts from Gatwick are still available for around £120, so it is quite possibly a couple of group bookings on the Edinburgh flight causing it to be (nearly) sold out.

Munich and Edinburgh are twinned, so there may well be participation by Edinburgh groups.

Kinda reminds me on how I booked an extreme day trip from London Gatwick to Pula in Croatia. I paid about £75 all in for flights. Jet 2 going and easyjet coming back.

On the same day TUI wanted something like £239 one way Gatwick to Pula.

Errrm nope.

As the saying goes, nothing beats a Jet 2 holiday. Lol

Perhaps the TUI is priced to deter flight only purchases.

Indeed they often are. The real money for them is selling packages and two people sitting their bums on their plane might be depriving them of a couple's package holiday which they coukd be selling for £1000.
