Sorry if asked, I am sure someone put a list up on here but I cannot find it, a list of regular 175 diagrams on the Cornish main line?
These should be the current diagrams involving passenger workings, but of course they are subject to change each day.

I don't know what has happened on the branches today. Yesterday had optimum services. Today 2 shortforms and one cancelation (hour gap) Paignton Exmouth. Shortform Barnstaple busy train. Two hour gap on Newquay with the 175 first trip cancelled. Falmouth second train cancelled, 72 minute gap. Only 5 turbos as against 6 yesterday. Even the Manchester train was 4 car and London Paignton 5 car.

Two unit-related problems back to back at Penzance yesterday (Monday). The 2P16 (1315 PNZ-PLY) cancelled "unknown cause" then the 2P17 (1350 PNZ-PLY) delayed +30 then cancelled after 175007 failed between Truro and Redruth as 2C18 EXD-PNZ (which had been started from Newton Abbot in any case). Thankfully there were enough unreserved seats on the next London train to mop up the large number of passengers.

Until things improve, I wouldn't count on any 175 service actually operating as planned.

Can cold storage really have caused this much damage to these trains? Before CAF got involved they were running around Wales and the Borders with no issues at all.

Strikes me that @XFeed knows more about them then Laira.

It most definitely can.
When 010 arrived at Penzance, it supposedly was completely messed up with all sorts of pests living inside the unit (including maggots in the AC apparently) and obviously a bunch of electronics no longer functional due to rain water damage after being sat still in the open air. Hence why units take so long to finish their work at Wolverton before heading down to Laira as there's so much to do with the units that have spent so long sat there coldly.

It's not a way that trains should be stored. If it was a case like with Lumo West Coast where the units arrive immediately after withdrawal (I know this was impossible with GWR and TfW as the actual signing of the lease wasn't carried out until about 85% of the fleet were stored cold at Ely and Lumo themselves being very unique as they're a "new" operator to the line) then I'm sure they would've fared much more positively and arrive in greater number in shorter timeframes.
It would have a similar impact on any train you put in those conditions, look at the state of some of the ex-EMR 180s that were transferred to Litchurch Lane not too long ago, they're not in a good condition.

Re the busy Barnstaple, it's half term so no issues with a 2 car.

I may know a little bit about the units ;)

I am sure Laira are trying everything they can to sort them out as, they, like everyone else wants the 175s to operate reliably as it makes their job easier in the long run.

I don`t think that you can blame CAF for all the recent problems to be fair.

Bear in mind they weren't exactly in great condition even before they went into storage.

I've attached a photo of the final 175 I ever drove. ECS to Chester with various safety systems isolated, hence the purple light on.
It seemed kind of fitting at the time.

Cold storage shouldn't cause problems if stored dry.

However if insufficient moisture absorption material is used will be damp, and have condensation inside, if it gets cold enough to be frosty that will freeze. Needless to say delicate electronics, sensors, electric circuits and motors do not take kindly to thawing ice. If it is very damp might be biological problems (mould spores) too.

Not happening.

Plans to reinstate passenger rail services on a line in Hampshire have been rejected by a government regulator.

I just cant see which safety systems have been isolated on the isolation panel but it looks like the far car has the bodyside hazard light lit ?

A signicant number of the fleet were stored for a year outside 60m from the marina at Holyhead.

I never knew about the purple light until now. Questions will be asked when I go back to work!
First and so far only time I've ever seen it for real!

I have a funny feeling door interlock was one of the things that was broken on it alright - but it was 2½ years ago now so I'm not certain. It wasn't anything that had an impact on driving but it was serious enough it had to go empty to Chester from Canton, they couldn't fix it down there.

I took photos of every 175 I drove back then - because I knew one of them soon would be my last.
