Assuming it wouldn't be allocated of them then.
I am not fully sure but South West are due 13 Yutong U11DDs and 80294-312 is a batch of 19 so I would assume that 13 would be swapped. The batch is currently with East Midlands with the exception of 20295 which is with North East but unsure if this is a loan or permanent. I think the reason the swap might take place is that the Enviro400EVs at the moment are unsuitable for Hull. But I think work has been on ongoing to see if the issues can be solved so that Hull can run the Enviro400EVs. I think we will only know for sure if the swap is happening is if either one of the Yutongs from 83023-35 is delivered to East Midlands or one of the Enviro400s from 80294-312 arrives at South West.

Unsuitable for Hull? Why?

I agree that’s the probable outcome, but it’s not entirely impossible for all 19 to head to Devon, with a further 6 diesel buses released?

Exeter currently operate 18 buses in the 19xxx series, excluding 19279, 19282 and 19324 which have seen service in weeks. They could probably do with an extra 6 buses. I seem to remember Exeter only being due the last 10 of the fleet with 83023-025 heading elsewhere within the South West fleet.

Or the batch due for Rugby is also involved in the swap? IIRC they are due 4 Yutong U11DDs

I am not fully sure of the exact issue but I think it is something to do with the doors not lining up properly with the boarding area in the interchange due to there being a bigger overhang between the front and the doors on the Enviro400EVs. They have been looking at solutions to the problem and if one is found the plan would be that the Enviro400EVs would stay at Hull and the Yutongs would continue to go to South West but if a solution isn't found they would swap them round.

The timetable for the 300 is now online. Transfer times in Lynmouth are 11-12 minutes (depending on direction of travel) and an end-to-end journey time of just over 2 hours 20 minutes. You'll get just over 3½ hours in either Minehead or Ilfracombe
before the last bus leaves.

That’s a lot of dead running for the bus that starts and ends at Minehead, unless they are outbasing it somewhere

Lomg dead runs becoming common with all the college wins. Bodmin to Pendeen being the longest I think.

The bustimes timetable gives no indication of the need to change buses in Lynmouth. A consequence of using the same route number for both sections I guess. Still don't know if through fares apply. Starts tomorrow.

Stagecoach app suggests £6 single fare for Minehead to Ilfracombe. DayRider is cheapest return offered at £10.

The discussion concerned a batch of 19 Enviro400EVs. The 'Class 19s' in Stagecoach numbering are original style Enviro400s, unless you mean that all of those need replacing. My understanding was that Exeter was getting 10 electric double deckers under ZEBRA2, in addition to 20 Volvo single deckers, which have arrived, but have not yet entered service. It has since been allocated another 90 buses of all types under ZEBRA3, none of which have been ordered yet.

Must be the TFL spec front end. I understand the Yutong double decker is also now available with a TFL spec front end. Do 83023-35 have the modified front end, or the original design? As for Hull Interchange, they had better find a solution someday, especially if TFL pedestrian safety rules go nationwide.

Yes, I was saying that the old 2006 - 2008 E400s are in dire need of replacements. Especially the knackered Mancunian ones. The original allocation of 10 would not be enough to displace them all.

15665 operated the 13:33 service 300 arrival at Lynmouth from Minehead and the 13:50 return journey today, whilst 36221 was on the associated workings from/to Ilfracombe.

The Ilfracombe ones were always going to be Barnstaple. It'll be interesting to see where 15665 began and finishes its day - Tiverton would be the closest base and Matford would be a long day at c.12 hours (but doable)

The Minehead end of the route is also operated from Barnstaple.

That's actually not as bad as I thought. It's 37 miles but 30 from Tiverton.

Now wait for someone to suggest it should run in service...

Trees overhanging in Devon prevent deckers running in service. First Bus copped for broken glass on at least one closed-top E400 running in service last year. Shame the operators can't go out with an OT and prepare the route themselves any more.

BusTimes shows it going the same way as the service bus does from Lynmouth to Minehead, so why couldn’t at least that part run in service? Maybe about and 8:30am departure out of Lynmouth wouldn’t be too early

They run that bus to Taunton Park & Ride (24) in service

I agree with you that there could be a 0825 or so Lynmouth to Minehead. It might carry a few passengers too. Possibly not done due to additional driving time costs? If so these must be marginal unless driver’s hours are on the limit.

The 24 to Taunton is effectively an empty run that won’t be delayed by passengers. Running a 300 in service even from/to Lynmouth will be adding on probably 45 mins onto the drivers day which is already >12.5 hrs

i think that they will have the original front end - i don't think any have been built for service with the new front yet (that might be wrong?)

People on an enthusiasts Facebook group are claiming Exeter's electrics will start service on the 17th. Admittedly it isn't the most reliable information but its nice to have a time scale. So far, 66104-106, 66110, 66113-115 and 66118 have been spotted around the depot.

Wife's niece lives near Callington and has sent a grainy photo of a Stagecoach D/D on fire there about 9 this morning.

Would that have been a college service returning empty to Plymouth?

Presumably this one? Apologies to the original poster - it appeared on my Facebook timeline.
