It's a 5 minute walk. Who would catch two trains instead?
Those who are less able to walk, those with luggage and those who are in a wheelchair.

Do you know the area ? Because even if the Camp Hill locals were kept to the New Street route, its far quicker to catch a bus than it takes the train to reach New Street from there.
I have a vauge idea of the area due to the type of job I do (logisitics).

I don't instantly identify those as groups who would be keen to change train on a short (5 minutes walk = perhaps a quarter of a mile?) journey.
Especially as the distance to be walked making that interchange would in itself not be inconsiderable, and a similar interchange possibility, if really needed, already exists at Smethwick Galton Bridge.
