... specifically the 1442 from TOT to PAD on Sat 23 May (1A88).

The RTT booking site has A at the front and 1st in K/L at the rear. But the seat selector has facing/back that is not consistent with that.

Can anyone help resolve this? Any which is the quiet carriage?

First class is always planned to be at the London End. Doesnt always work out like that for a multitude of reasons, but on a London bound services, first class should be at the front.

And coach A is the quiet coach

Thanks, that is what I would have assumed.

Finally gave up on RTT: when I experimented with their seat allocator the cookies kept adding more and more copies of my booking. Was fascinated I could save all of £4 getting to CBG by split-ticketting via Cheltenham and Birmingham and Melton Mowbray(!) but I will have a busy day and a heavy bag.

Fortunately GWR site sprang back into life after a period when it kept failing to make the booking at the last step of 5 (gave up on seat selection and took their random allocation in the end).

Managed to catch the train an hour earlier (1A86). Very obliging TM, hope this post doesn't cause trouble(!)

This train was 2 x 5 coaches, first class in D/E and K/L. Attentive service from catering despite them only having one person in each half. Quiet coaches A (country end) and G.

Question: why does the Circle Line platform at KGX not have clear signage to the quick way to the KX NR station above? Ended up at St Pancras exit and missed onward connection. Can anyone provide a link to the 3D drawing I once found of all the numerous underground lifts and passages?

If the faster route was officially signed, it would almost certainly result in station closures at the busiest times due to conflicting passenger flows.

The best way of flagging up problems like this is to use the built-in feedback functionality so it can be investigated and details about the service are sent to the people responsible for maintaining it:

Let us know what you think about this coach diagram (if it's missing information, is poor quality or you're completely happy with it). We are reliant on data provided by train operators to some degree, but we will look at what we can do to make the experience better.

This particular issue should get sorted out later this week.
