The 3, 8 & 9 are Nottingham City Council supported routes. So unless funding has been withdrawn, it may be another operator take them over but that would be very strange?

It's probably just a mistake in the registration- withdrawing those services would leave massive gaps in the bus network, which goes against the council's bus service obligations.
I don't think the 8 and 9 are Nottingham city council funded as they don't primarily. serve the city. Also public transport has been transferred to EMCCA now so I don't think any funding will be getting withdrawn.

The remaining night buses I belive are very important for students and I thought reasonably well used but I only use the Saturday earlier ones. I wonder if the June date represents the end of term and they are no longer going to run them over the summer holidays?

The local councillor (still the same as we didn't have elections here this May) lobbied very hard for the 3A to have a bus serving Wilford but I've never seen it with many (any?) on that leg.

The 3 does have a lot of duplication from more frequent buses (1, 4 and 10) and the tram.

There are no other registrations for route alterations to cover the 3/8/9 and no other local operators have registered anything either to suggest someone else is imminently taking the routes over either

Given NCTs recent financial issues its not a surprise that they will be reviewing their business and routes that were perhaps not profit makers before, or even subsidised by other routes are probably now likely to be scrapped if they aren’t making a profit

Theres the possibility that a late registration could come in if the routes are out to tender or if NCT alter existing routes to fill the gap but you would expect NCT would be on the ball and done that at the same time as registering the cancellation

I suppose we will know more soon as the public announcement will be about due in the next week or so if they intend to give a fair amount of notice

If I'm interpreting the above correctly, there is a change to the 7 and 8 in #604 above, which could be the combining of these routes when Rose Way is linked through to Musters Road which was talked about on this thread a year or more ago when the 5, 6 and 7 routes changed. As of last week that connection certainly hadn't happened and I don't believe there's any sign of extra bus stops on Rose Way. The top one in this post looks to be a re-routeing of the 9 to go to Ruddington (via Compton Acres) and Clifton. I don't see anything that changes the 3 though.

I think the recent extension to the 11 is also being re-numbered as the 12.

The 11 still says it goes to Cropwell/ and 11c going to national water sports centre
With the "new" 12 going to cropwell bishop aswell

NCT don't have any significant financial issues following the earlier minor concerns which have been rectified.

No routes will be cut- there are significant changes to routes as part of the yearly review, all with the aim of improving the network with passengers in mind.

Very intriguing. One that caught my eye was the 45(B) terminating at Cardale Road!

Also interesting to see that the 58 is still registered from Long Row all these years later!

I'd bear in mind that it's very common for the destinations in registrations not to be updated when the route is extended or shortened

From what I can work out, the 7/8 will become circulars whilst the 9 is going to extend to clifton to replace the 3/3A in part. All speculation though.

Apparently there are changes to ALL services except from Navy 49! So it'll be interesting to see them all when they come out (which I'm sure will be soon)

My initial thoughts for the E12s would be perhaps be for the revised green line services to displace some E10s, or even to do a 48 style conversion on the 10 if 7 would give enough vehicles to increase frequency

Singles on the 10? I remember that from a few years ago and was quickly reversed.

If I recall correctly it was a mix of omnidekkas and enviro 200s when they tried it last so probably approaching best part of a decade ago now. I think it has also had its frequency cut since then so who knows singles plus every 10 minutes could work. I remember people were sceptical about the 48 but that seems to be doing well with E12s and a few peak double deckers.

There's certainly an interesting and very positive future for NCT in the next couple of years!

I assume there's still no news on the proposed 2 route into Fairham? The section of Barleyfield Drive up to the turning circle has yet to open so I'd imagine they're still waiting on that.

Would this even be worthwhile? Surely would make more sense to just integrate into the 1, would the 2 not basically just take the same route but terminate at Fairham?

In other news NET are claiming that the tram involved in an accident with 529 in Chilwell earlier this year could end up costing anything from 500k to £2million in repairs…. Seems excessive! On that does anyone know what has/is happening to 529?

If anything I'd say a possible increase in frequency on the 1 would be sufficient while the area expands.

Looks like we're also gaining a service 55 and 55a, perhaps that will be the replacement for the 3A? as the new 9 seems to be running to Clifton via Compton acres and ruddington.
I presume the 55/55A will be a non city centre service like the 53/54

Presumably in the long term it would be similar to the 4 - providing more frequency on the busiest section of the route, while also providing better accessibility to the parts of the estate furthest from Fairham way (getting towards a km at the outer edges)

25 years has seen a lot of change on the 6/10 - both moving from shorter single deckers to larger ones, then double deckers as demand increased. 6 obviously already been rerouted to Morrisons instead of Edwalton and now potential downsizing of the 10?

The amount of builders' stuff blocking the access from Rose Way into Musters Road has noticeably reduced, suggesting they might actually be on the way to opening this link which would permit the proposed combining of the 7 and 8 into a circular service. There's no sign of new bus stops on Rose Way though, at least the upper part.

I'm not sure why it is suggested the 10 might go to single deckers in preference to any other DD route. The re-routed 9 might sort of duplicate it, but if it still goes via Central Avenue then most of the passengers between Ruddington and the city will still find the 10 to be quicker. Changes such as the new route 12 are likely to increase the SD fleet requirement.

It's not clear if the combined 11 and 12 will have a higher PVR than the 11 at the moment.

Yes, tt's possible that the 11s will revert to being the short workings only and the Cropwell ones will become the 12, which probably wouldn't increase the PVR. But they may be doing something like sending Cropwells by a faster route on Radcliffe Road or a more attractive detour via Central Avenue, which would need extra buses to maintain the frequency at Lady Bay.

One of the 12 variants will also go via Bingham, so that one might go through the avenue

That would be very welcomed in Lady Bay (although if the Morrisons bit was lost there would be some disappointment) as the service has been rather unreliable since extended to Cropwell Bishop - I know both of my housemates that used to rely on the bus now walk/ride to work in the city centre as it's far too unreliable.

Just looked at the nct app, I only looked at the 45 but times are only available until the 20th of June, sort of confirming a service changes
