The HE Scanias have been given First fleet numbers, at least on paper. I’ve not seen any to check.

Was on rail replacement duties all day Sunday, only saw one High Experiences Scania out, didn't spot any numbers initially until I passed it again and saw the rear, the number is on the back in some stylised font almost camouflage with the rear livery took me a few seconds to notice it

I was interpreting "HE Scanias" as Hengrove rather than High Experiences, and was wondering why they didn't have fleetnumbers... That now makes sense ;)

Spotted in bath today that some of the ex bath bus opentops have now got high experience legal lettering or on hire to HE from first and keep the first fleet numbers allocated as there sharing depot at Burnett
Also saw in bristol 30143 on delivery to hengrove

Have to say... The X39 is a mixed bag of vehicles. Whilst Bath depot are still sending e400/e400mmc out, looks like the Lawrence Hill (MS) contingent is B9TLs including some ex 24 vehicles that were, of course, used on there until 2020. For what was a flagship service, it looks pretty awful!

It’s a good thrash on the B9s while they’re still here though, they certainly rattle a lot less than the MMCs! It makes you wonder what will be used after the B9s go.

I spotted one of the timetables on the A4 corridor has been updated with promotional branding for a revamped A4. As suspected it looks like the E400 cities will go Blue to match the Yutongs.

The rattle aspect is certainly true. I think the 368** Scanias are possibly some of the worst I've experienced in that regard.

It's been mentioned that the Bath workings will go to Streetdeck Repowers but the MS ones...?

33982 is the worst. I can only liken the noise and vibrations to that of a plane on the runway for takeoff. I suppose MS will end up with what ever comes over from the LH electrification.

Talking of Streetdecks, I’ve just seen 35162 heading to Bath on the X39. Hadn’t realised that had moved over.

Hmmm.... I'd guess it'll be gas buses?

I hadn't realised that either - apparently been in Bath for a week. Surprised they didn't send over an e400mmc from Weston rather than that.

The buses in Bath have gone hugely downhill recently. At the start of the year it was pretty consistent e400/e400mmcs that were all in pretty good nick, but there seems to have been a noticable increase in significantly older buses. They're still cancelling services left right and centre too, so where have the buses used before gone?

A number of the e400mmcs that were employed (ex 48/49, ex 1/2) are now used on the 42/43.

Yes, not uncommon to see 3 or more different liveries on a route now.

Sort of feels they are operating a policy of patch up, put anything into service, not worry about maintaining standards until more electrics enter the fleet.

I (and others in our road too), now drive into Bath, much quieter in our electric car, and cheaper even paying for 2-3 hours parking. If I go by bus now arrive fatiqued from the constant diesel drone and drafts around my head bringing in fumes which I am no longer used to (open windows are so last century)

36801 is the absolute worst in that regard, remember about this time last year thinking the body was going to disintegrate in service. ADL build quality is something else!

Obviously, they are keeping certain vehicles running until the electrics enter service and to cope with increased PVRs. That said, I don't know if it would have been too much trouble to have sent 37640/2 (having already got the Bath livery) and 37771/2 (former ME colours) which are more common in Bath rather than send 37334 (green), 37339 (jade), 37328 (orange front 1/2), 37252 (York Pink) - perhaps there are some reasons?

I can remember getting one of them on the old 47 route from Yate c.2019 and thought it appalling for a two year old machine. Don't know if the longer wheelbase and dual door construction is an issue but they're really quite bad.

With the Great Bristol Run due on Sunday, First are trying something different this year than previous in order to minimise delays, the following has appeared on the First website :

Great Bristol Run diversions - 2026

On 10th May 2026 the Great Bristol Run will mean many roads across Bristol are closed between 04:00 and 14:00-14:45 (Anchor Road until 18:00). Following disruption to the network for most of the day in the last couple of years due to increased congestion on diversion routes, we are making a number of changes to our diversions for the 2026 event. Many routes will stop short of the City Centre and / or not run cross-city, with the aim of keeping buses out of the worst of the congestion and ensuring that we can still provide a service to the rest of the city

Details of what they're doing : https://www.firstbus.co.uk/bristol-...s/great-bristol-run-bristol-road-closures-all (providing link as details are quite extensive with maps provided)

57101 has hit the road on driver training in Bath
They don't look too bad IMO and I have heard good things of the ones currently down in Torquay (but ultimately destined for Barnstaple) with Stagecoach South West so when First get some of these and the E200EVs into public service in Bath I will be sure to try them out. I can imagine these E100EV being ideal for the 2, 6 and 7 in Bath for which I think they are intended, particularly the latter two due to the road width on parts of those routes.

Is that 100% because the bustimes tracking looks a bit dodgy. Plus I also just took a picture of it on driver training

View attachment 204231
Yes I was skeptical. I came about a minute from seeing what was reporting as it on bustimes on my way home this morning and it was then taken out of service.

Having had another look at the tracks I'm pretty certain they must've just been doing testing. They weren't following the full routes, when they were doing the U2 they weren't even going to Brougham Hayes
