Just as a matter of interest, why were they transferred to Dairycotes? Was it just for storage, prior to eventual scrapping at Draper's? I can't imagine any suitable duties for them in and around Hull still existing by the mid-1960s.

The WR was desperately looking for a less embarrassing outcome than sending these almost new locos for scrap and, because a few D9500 had been sent to Landore for Swansea’s dying docks, suggested that they might be suitable for use in Hull’s docks. The NER managed to resist until 1966, but eventually pressure from the BRB lead to the twenty ‘best’ being sent to Dairycoates and Springbank in January 1967 as a welcome gift to the ER on its takeover. A further nine were transferred in the summer of 1967, although five never got further than Worcester.
The locos unreliability and lack of multiple-working, together with the way that the docks were dying, meant that the locos didn’t last long. However, it was now Doncaster’s responsibility to dispose of them: all twenty-nine were withdrawn on 1 April 1968.

They were sent to Hull to operate within the Docks. However they appeared to be underpowered so had to operate in pairs (allegedly requiring two sets of crew).
They weren't judged to be a success.
Many ended up operating in steel works and collieries.
That will do. They are located at junctions leading to nuclear flask loading sites.

There's a lot that are above ground, especially on lines 2 and 6, - I think these two are ones that were built but never opened??

That is correct. At both the platforms were built but the station never opened. Additionally, I think that both have no access from street level.

I remember chasing the MA52 in their final months; by that point their condition was not particularly good - the floors were so worn that embedded chicken wire was readily visible in places!
