I wonder if MTG has picked up some of thew new school contract due out? Why did Stagecoach repaint those Plaxton Elite into the dark blue livery just to be sold off?
I questioned this myself. My thoughts are the loss of these Perth contracts was perhaps rather unexpected. Losing them means about 20 vehicles are surplus. Why did Stagecoach repaint those Plaxton Elite into the dark blue livery just to be sold off?
It has looked to me that Fife has been painting its newest vehicles first - for example all of the 2024 Solos there are already in Steel Blue, and a large majority of the E400 MMC fleet are already done - while Blairgowrie has seemingly been repainting its entire fleet (I think only the classic E400s there are left not in Steel Blue).I wonder if MTG has picked up some of thew new school contract due out? The contract award notice appears to be dated December 2025, but I think there were repaints after then.I questioned this myself. My thoughts are the loss of these Perth contracts was perhaps rather unexpected. Losing them means about 20 vehicles are surplus.
Blaigowrie also has the last 2 59 plate E300’s, which are likely to be replaced by 26112/3 when St Andrews finally gets its BZL’s. 26114-23 should see off the 10 E300’s that remain at Perth. I’d expect the 11 of them that need painted to be done so before entering service at their new depots. It has looked to me that Fife has been painting its newest vehicles first - for example all of the 2024 Solos there are already in Steel Blue, and a large majority of the E400 MMC fleet are already done - while Blairgowrie has seemingly been repainting its entire fleet (I think only the classic E400s there are left not in Steel Blue).
Thanks - I thought I'd missed something at Blairgowrie!Blaigowrie also has the last 2 59 plate E300’s, which are likely to be replaced by 26112/3 when St Andrews finally gets its BZL’s. 26114-23 should see off the 10 E300’s that remain at Perth. A number of the new to Western Scania E400’s are in Steel Blue now.
I believe 19899 has also been painted, though I haven’t seen it. While 27131 continues to show Blue on its V5C despite having not been painted. Hopefully it is painted at some-point.
54511 should be at the end stages of its repaint as well. Not sure why the LE’s at Perth haven’t been finished, 2 remain to be done.
Vehicle availability at Perth hasn't been the greatest of late so keeping buses off for repaint wouldn't help (although not unheard of VOR buses to be painted whilst waiting for parts/labour for other reasons)Not sure why the LE’s at Perth haven’t been finished, 2 remain to be done.
As @ajrm said earlier in the thread the construction work at Dundee bus station is finished, last I heard they are waiting on an external company to "do their part" then the site will be liveWhile mentioning those BZLs, is there any sign on the horizon of them actually entering service yet?
The elites had two recent repaints if my memory serves me right, they went into the local livery even though they were coaches, then into blue, double 'waste'.MTG Enterprises have purchased:

Info at Bus Times UK suggests that the bus was operating a service 31 from Glenrothes towards QM Hospital.A Stagecoach E400 has been gutted by fire outside the Micheal Woods Centre on Stenton Road in Glenrothes, it popped up on the BBC's live coverage of the local election results as the MWC is the area's polling station.
Never mind, @scosutsut has beaten me to it.
19551/3/5MTG Enterprises in Cardenden have bought a few
Looks like 19553 still at Perth. Maybe 19557 that went.19551/3/5
21 May and updated on 16 June - no sign yet of buses using the new charging equipment on the site of the old depot adjoining (south of) Seagate bus station, Dundee. Is there any suggestion yet for when the BZLs for the 99 will finally enter service? I know there were delays with the infrastructure in Dundee at least, but surely that must be ready soon...
If it’s the 17th August that changes are happening then I’d imagine the registrations will appear on 3rd July, which is 5 and a half weeks away?Within the next 2-3 weeks the revised registrations should be going in for Monday 17 Aug. Alot of the school contracts are different and have changed hands. While they will be some other changes, with again change of operator on a number of council routes including 31.
First round of tender awards were advised to bidders back in March, and I believe were finalised in early April.Fife council has never published the tender awards on Public Contracts Scotland, infact I don't think they ever published them on line for donkeys years. As far as I know all the compaines have been told who's getting what from August.
I'm sure Larbert have got a few School runs again from what I'm hearingFirst round of tender awards were advised to bidders back in March, and I believe were finalised in early April.
Surely if the chargers are ready, then it’s almost at a point where driver familiarisation can start?21 May - no sign yet of buses using the new charging equipment on the site of the old depot adjoining (south of) Seagate bus station, Dundee.
I don't think the chargers have been commissioned yet. They also need to employ an evening shunter for Dundee bus stationSurely if the chargers are ready, then it’s almost at a point where driver familiarisation can start?
Yes, correct—it was still at St Andrews quite recently though I think it may have left a couple of weeks ago. Haven't been past in a couple of weeks.I don't think the chargers have been commissioned yet. They also need to employ an evening shunter for Dundee bus station
I'm fairly sure there was a BZL (76140?) kept at St Andrews for VF purposes anyway, whilst the rest were at Arbroath
No, Midland Bluebird aren’t returning to West Fife with either school or local bus work.I'm sure Larbert have got a few School runs again from what I'm hearing

Have Bay Travel got the 31?
