810015 failed at Beeston on 1B94 due to Doors, was cancelled at East Mids Parkway and running to Loughborough as 5Z94, where there is a schedule for it to return to Derby under the same headcode.

First class host on my late running St Pancras departure tonight told me that 3 810’s failed today.
810013 failed this morning on 0700 off Sheffield, looks like it's being replaced with 810010. Apart from that, all 5 810 diagrams covered today, and all 222 diagrams covered too!

Real-time trains now says EMR Aurora on the mobile site, not sure if that happened in the last day or so.

Yes I noticed that, it’s a nice touch and makes it a lot easier when searching for 810s in amongst a timetable.
Hi can you tell me how I access this, do i use the quick search or the main menu?
Regards Dave

In the detailed search on any station that EMR Intercity pass through, all intercity EKR services will have ‘EMR Meridian’ or ‘EMR Aurora’ in small text beneath, like here:

Just for reference that doesn't appear on the wide view (e.g. on a computer) but if you squash the browser down to phone width it magically pops up! :)

Appears first time on a phone provided it's vertical orientation.

810017, 810019 and 810022 all sat outside at the factory today undergoing various static testing/work undertaken.

Yesterday 810020 was also outside.

019 should be the next to be delivered to Etches Park

Have there been any sight of 810001/002/005/007 anywhere recently as well?

Also any new news on how long 810003/4 have left with GBRf, I’m presuming they’re nearing done with them with 10-car on its way soon.

001, 005 and 007 not seen for many many weeks.
Baring in mind 001 was a shell when it arrived back so will have been placed into production behind some of the higher numbered units.

002 not one knows, or is prepared to say where 002 is. No reports of it since leaving for Italy a couple of years ago.

All those units you mention are either undergoing or are awaiting work to be done to bring them up to service standard (008/009 will need work doing also), so will be the last few units to be handed over. As a matter of opinion, I suspect that once the production units have been handed over, only then we will see 001-005 and 007 in service

I was on 810014 yesterday (Wednesday 23 April 2026) heading to Beeston. We left Leicester 2 minutes late after it caught up a late running 170 at Wigston, but then we lost 20 minutes at Loughborough with door issues and a door had to be reset by a travelling fitter in coach A. Door problems again caused a further 16 minutes delay at East Midland Parkway and again at Beeston where we had to wait for an emergency opening by the guard before we could alight. The train finally got to Nottingham 50 minutes late. The return working did not run and it ran empty to Etches Park. Not out today!!

Looks like one or both of GBRf’s unit (003/004) failed last night on 5Q70 at Leicester, returned straight to Old Dalby after waiting at Leicester from 2231 until 0456 (whether that was an it could run back under the 5Q71 timetable or whether it was so they could get some techs out to fix it, I’m not sure)

They aren’t GBRf’s - GBRf are just the operators, providing crews etc.

Seems very similar to the issues avanti had with 805s and 807s when new, when trying to release doors at stations. That caused by an over complicated TMS system that got confused if it didn’t know exactly where it was and would refuse to allow the driver to open the doors.

Work around was to allow the TM to release doors at a door panel.

It might have just been a fault on the local door control module? Which, in my experience, is independent of the TMS (train management system).

Only 2 810s out today, I know one of the flows that was meant to be an 810 out of Cricklewood failed yesterday and was subbed for an 810, however what about the other few services that are both meridians now?

Only three 810s were booked to be out today, so it was inevitable that the one starting at Cricklewood would be a 222 after yesterday's failure

One thing I have noticed is that over the last few weeks, all EMP VSTP schedules, whether 810 or 222, have been timed as EMUs, which is interesting.

I had my first run on an 810 on Saturday returning from the GCR Diesel gala and I joined a late running 1F47 14.32 St Pancras - Sheffield on 810012.
The train stood in Loughborough for 8 mins with the Guard talking to a passenger - something about reservations which were missing from the set.

On departure at 16.08 - 21 late we then got checked at Sheet Stores for a late running Lincoln - Crewe and the Guard then announced the train would terminate at Chesterfield for its return working
He suggested passengers for Sheffield to alight at Derby and catch the following 1F50 - 810015 to save crossing via the subway.
That train was a few mins down but lost time arriving at Derby and was 8 late away.

The Signalman controlling the Sheffield area, York ROC?, gave the unit further delay by stopping it at Dore and Totley to let the TPE off the branch first instead of 1F50 having a good run.
8 Late at Dronfield and would have made Sheffield 6 late at 17.10 but was 10 late with people off two MML services missing connections.

The units.
No Reservations showing on either set.
The Train information told you where the train would stop and the PTT info but that did not take in to account of the late running.
Seats and fitting seem to be the same design as the Azuma and TPE 802 apart from the lack of Blinds on the windows.

Almost as if they 810's had been designed to a lower spec.

After the farce coupling two 222s at Sheffield in the morning I was less than impressed with my journey to & from Loughborough
