I've told the station, emailed SWR. I thought someone here might knowEven without an ID number it is better to tell SWR than to tell us.
SWR updated their app recently, and said I had to create a new password and re enrol any payment cards that I did back in March. I'm worried what happens if a board a train but the card hasn't been validated. I have tried this with a travel card on a smartcard that I haven't touched in and the revenue person scans it and it is valid but says "you should touch in at the beginning and out at the end but didn't explain why as you don't have to with a paper ticket"First one is giving an ITSO error code for not having a valid ticket on your ITSO smart card. Strange as they should be connected to the same station computer. I think you would have to contact the retail team of SWR so they can contact Cubic. It would be easier if there was a gateline with staff (it's the same technology).
If you don't touch in and out it can be very difficult to get delay repay on your journey. It also helps passengers confirm that their ticket is valid hence the reason the pedestals are called "passenger validators".but didn't explain why as you don't have to with a paper ticket
I also want it to validate as I get a proportion of many of my journeys paid back as part of a privilege agreementIf you don't touch in and out it can be very difficult to get delay repay on your journey. It also helps passengers confirm that their ticket is valid hence the reason the pedestals are called "passenger validators".
Plus the benefit of the TOC gaining data on your journeys. Positive for them in the event of fraudulent behaviour, positive for you if they upgrade the service based on usage trends.
