Bit of an odd one here. Booking Crayford to Taunton 11-12 May. Leave on 0934, 1819. Compared details between you and gwr.com. Outward identical, return same trains but gwr were £6.20 cheaper. You seem to be charging for travelling via Dartford whereas they are not. Is their's an invalid itinerary?

TAU 1819
PAD 2023 2041
ABW 2112 2117
DFD 2129 2135
CRY 2139

Dartford fails the routeing point check for the return journey. So you need to split tickets to go that way. It looks like the only destination routeing points are Slade Green and Hither Green. You're correct that GWR are offering it, and I don't immediately see why - it looks like it's not valid.

Dartford DFD Travel was NOT allowed at NFM64: SOS from TAU to DFD on route 00000: £38.00 is more expensive than SOS from TAU to CRY on route 00000: £37.00.

Hi all.

This issue probably isn’t with the site at all, more what I’m doing but I thought I’d mention it…

On iPhones you can create an ‘app’ from a website so that you get an app icon on your Home Screen and it feels like an app when using it. I have done this for the forum ticket site but the add to Apple Wallet function post-purchase doesn’t work, it just hangs. No biggie as I can simply add the tickets to my Wallet from the email. See attached. The blank screen at the end is when I clicked the refresh icon. Ta

Do you know what browser you have set as the default, and the "Add to Apple Wallet" link is opening within from the progressive web app?

For reasons best known to Apple, the pkpasses handling is built into Safari (and other browsers which have decided to add support for this - e.g. Chrome for iOS) rather than iOS itself. It might be that even if Safari is the default browser, PWAs are set-up to open in some sort of lightweight browser that unfortunately doesn't have this file type handling support.

Safari is the default, and yes everything happens inside the PWA.

We've been able to reproduce it internally, but to the best of our knowledge it looks like an iOS bug, which we have reported to Apple. As a workaround, if you long press on the Add to Apple Wallet button, it will open up the UI so that you can add passes to your device

Ok great many thanks. I’ll give that a go next time. Also seems to be an issue from the journeys page but then I guess that’s to be expected if it’s an iOS issue.

How come this journey isn’t e-ticketable even though the change in London is via NR gates only. Is it an issue with SWR ? Ta

I will edit my post; I didn't check who owned the flow.

Broader point is, though, it's nothing to do with us

Why not just install the actual app? I use it solely for adding tickets to my Apple Wallet, as when doing complex bookings (which is what I use Trainsplit for) I always do them on the computer.

There is no app for the forum site route, and I want to do it all in one flow, not faff around.

We have the ability now to just give the journey planner specific trains and force it to validate the route & fares based on a list of input services, which I suspect would suit power users (who already have an itinerary they've constructed) trying to achieve what you're doing by "abusing" the Via/Avoid points.

It's one of those features I think about two people (who I would describe as nerds, sorry) would use about once a year, so quite hard to justify providing a UI for. But it would be possible...
Hi I am one of those two nerds.

I think a toggle option to do all the via points in order would achieve something close to this without having to develop new UI, and I'm sure would be of use to a few people who are not nerds too.

That would be incredibly useful and would largely remove most use cases for using other sites for me. I'm sure it's the same for many others.
I do think that it's not just a niche tool though - e.g. if someone has a preferred train service for their commute, or someone's discussed with a friend that they are meeting on the 09:30 to London, this tool would save quite a bit of time.
It's also good for being able to see all the different pricing options for a specific long-distance train service, a tool that the Realtime Tickets site has but it lacks the option to add via points.

Via points should already be processed in the order you provide them. If you see this not being the case, then it is a bug, and you should let us know!

Unless I'm misunderstanding, the forum's site will also do this when you choose an itinerary and then click "Change ticket selection" under the big continue button.

If you mean all ticket options for a specific long distance journey search rather than a particular service, then that's a bit different.

I'm currently getting an issue when using my phone (I'm out so can't check on my laptop) where it's not letting me add a two together Railcard despite having 2 adults.

Same here. I understand they are already working on a fix.

Had a very strange one today, try to use the date selector and finding that my Apple trackpad doesn’t select the date when physically pressing with my keypad.
Instead have to touch the screen in order to select the date in question!

Hah, interesting one indeed! I think I've managed to fix this by updating the date picker we use (you may need to force refresh next time you go on the site) but do shout if you continue to experience the same behaviour.

Can confirm, this works!

2 questions
1. I want to rebook&exchange an Advance bought through TrainSplit (not the forum site). Will my bookings synchronise between the two, and can I complete the process on the Forum site?
2. Does the Forum site charge a Share of Savings fee?

  1. Yes, the accounts are the same across TrainSplit, Raileasy and all whitelabel sites like the Forum Ticketing site
  2. Yes, the fee tariff is identical to that used by TrainSplit
