Fair enough, I passed the online test and then got told they will be in touch with me once they have an update, i have passed all stage 1/2 and MMI, so guessing I am waiting a DMI date. Looks like people who applied for Waterloo a few weeks ago have their tests this month and next, so hope to get a DMI may time maybe.
Hi everyone, I applied last night for Feltham, they send the link with assessment to do within 48hs. Was planing to do today after work but I received a lovely email saying they won’t progress my application. Without even do the assessment that they provide. Usually down to distance from. Depot both in the morning for arrival at 4am and then evening peak around 4 again. They take the highest time shown on Google maps for traveling time, if that's over 60 then no dice

Just want to jump in on this and ask how long did people on here wait between sitting the paper and computer tests? I passed the paper tests in october and have been waiting ever since to sit the computer tests, called recruitment multiple times with no update.
From paper to computer - one month
From computer to DMI - 3 months
DMI to MMI - 2 weeks

On the 18/3 I applied for the position at the Wimbledon Depot and to my surprise I’ve received a quick response for an invite to Southampton for the first round of assessments on the 8/4!
I’m booked in for the following:-
I’ve been in railway for 10years with another TOC (light railway), but I never had to do any of the above. So any help on what to expect would be amazing!

Out of interest does anyone know what details of your application (CV for example) are passed to the managers who conduct the DMI, or is it nothing at all and it’s the HR recruitment team who only have sight of that so that the interview is conducted objectively only on the answers the candidate gives to competency based questions.

Like you say it was a very quick turnaround from application to assessment date. In comparison I applied for a TTD role with Arriva last summer and I’ve only just been invited to an assessment day 2 days ago!
Obviously I can’t attend 2 assessment days and SW looks like much better pay etc so turned them down

From my experience in interviewing (although not drivers), I’ve always had sight of the application packs for candidates. Recruitment should (in my opinion) just facilitate the assessments and interviews. With drivers it is probably a bit different in that there are far more applications to sift through, so in this respect, I would imagine recruitment will sift people out based on their criteria for this.
However, the interviewing managers will probably have access to all the application paperwork for the candidates they interview. They can still be objective with this being the case. If your application didn’t meet certain standards, you’d not have got through to the interview stage.
Was there a computer glitch this afternoon? I am sure I saw a trainee driver job at Wimbledon depot advertised on the SW Rail website this lunchtime but by the time I had checked that I was within 60 mins of the depot (which for me was about 5 minutes) the job had disappeared. I am sure I was not hallucinating but it seemed to vanish before I had time to read the whole job advert.
It may have been up for a few hours before you saw it, then got taken down? This often happens to regulate applications. It may well be back up soon.

Anyone who applied for Waterloo in late Feb, heard back regarding DMI if you passed all the test already? I know people who haven’t passed the tests are doing it this month.

I only have a group bourden assesment to sit next week with SWR but I’m really worried that I’m not scoring enough on my practice papers, does anyone have any advice when it comes to performing well in the group bourden test

This was also one of my bogey tests. All I can say is practice them as much as you can. You might start to see patterns that you recognise quickly with practice, but don’t rush and find your own pace at it. When I was doing it, my 12yr old daughter did it for fun and constantly whupped me, but I still passed on test day. From memory, I think I was only getting 9-13 lines completed.

Just practice, practice, practice. There's a good website called Metodorf which has the group bourdon online. You can do it on a screen or print the pages.

Has anyone ever heard of only having to do the computer 3 assessments and skipping the paper ones. Been told im through to interviews after only doing the computer ones with SWR.

This happened to me! I thought I was going mad.. I saw one for SWR Bournemouth trainee driver apprenticeship with the vacancy advertised till some date in next month MAY.. as it was late at night, I thought I will go to bed and wake up early to complete. Woke up at 0630 to get a early start on it and it said I had missed it. Next time I will just apply straight away!

These advertisements usually disappear in a couple hours. Whenever you see a post you should apply right there and then.

is it 2 minutes per a section or 2 mins per a page because on each page there are two sections of dots per a page

According to the RSSB, the MMI is now valid for the same length of time as the other application assessments, which is now five years.

Update, I smashed onto the computer test now, although I do feel more confident on this part does anyone have any tips

Any idea if SWR will be recruiting again for the Waterloo depot for this year? They've recruited twice this year so far. First one I caught it, but was at work and it timed me out. Refreshed page and everything disappeared including application I started. 2nd time I totally missed i as I was at work. This is the only company I've experienced that takes down vacancy post after 1 hour. I've been waiting for this depot’s vacancy since last year.
I had my DMI (not for waterloo) on Thursday and they wanted to get back to pre covid levels and have a massive recruitment drive ongoing and training starting every month 12 drivers at a time. So in my opinion Waterloo will be advertised again before end of year for sure!! Keep an eagle out for it and good luck!!
