Have they started work on any of the other 60’s yet, or is 063 the lone one so far?

Definitely worked it @ExResCertainly nothing I've heard of other than the completely uncorroborated comment that 60062 might be having work done on it, realistically it was photographed at Toton on 7th January among lots of other locos and still with that appalling vinyl mess on it
Can't find any confirmation anywhere on 60063 so far this morning, 0635 6L41 left Mountsorrel Sidings 8 late arriving Peterborough West Yard 1 early, whether it was 60063 solo, with another loco or didn't run isn't obvious (to me) as yet
Was this just a test run for 60063 or was it a revenue earning service?

Yeah yes taking those stupid stickers off 62 is a massive step in the right directionReported on WNXX this morning,
The following Class 60s have had their branding removed 60001/011/015/020/040/044/054/091/092
The nameplates have been removed from 60020/040/044/065/071/072
Most interestingly 60062 is inside the Toton paint facility (thank the Lord)
No mention of 60063 though
I believe the engine used in a 60 is one of the most efficient and uses less fuel than a 66. If they could get reliability up fuel savings soon add up to serious savings over time.Is it true to say that 60s are superior to 66s for certain types of work (assuming they are reliable)? I think I remember reading somewhere that they can be more fuel efefficient.
Definitely for the low-speed heavy work, given their increased starting tractive effort over a normal geared shed. I'd say the benefits are greater when the wagons being hauled are only capable of 60mph, as the sheds have the added benefit of running at 75mph on empty runs when certain types of wagons (I believe that includes the JNA box and IIA biomass wagons amongst others). Is it true to say that 60s are superior to 66s for certain types of work (assuming they are reliable)? My impression is that DCR's project to resurrect class 60s has been quite successful - it seems they are now performing quite reliably?
I wonder to what extent DB have been watching this and whether it affects their decision making at all.

I have been wondering though, have WNXX dropped a typo and it should be 063 in the paint shop rather than 062?
* And the answer is --- WNXX have changed it to 60063 in the paint shop
Reported on WNXX this evening that 60063 is now in Freight Grey but with no decals or branding, no confirmatory pictures as yet
Oh yessss.... That looks excellentJust seen someone about 60063 repaint into triple grey, not my photo, source: FB https://media.discordapp.net/attach...t=webp&quality=lossless&width=946&height=1198
No one knows (or if they do, they ain't telling)What are the plans for 60063 please?
My guess it's going to be sold to DCRNo one knows (or if they do, they ain't telling)
The rumour is the ex-owner of land recovery has bought them but we'll wait for an official announcement. (land recovery is now owned by aggregate industries)My guess it's going to be sold to DCR
I doubt it, for one thing DCR are very active on LinkedIn via David Fletcher who keeps the class 60s overhaul situation up to date and also 60063 still retains the original light clusters whereas DCR change them to LED during overhaulMy guess it's going to be sold to DCR

Who else would it be though? No other operator has any 60s.I doubt it, for one thing DCR are very active on LinkedIn via David Fletcher who keeps the class 60s overhaul situation up to date and also 60063 still retains the original light clusters whereas DCR change them to LED during overhaul
If he has bought any locos then they will be for the company that became DBI Rail Limited after the sale of Land Recovery to Aggregate Industries, DBI in turn became ESH Rail Services Ltd on 13th February 2026 with Daniel Beecroft as the sole Director
That is complicated !!If he has bought any locos then they will be for the company that became DBI Rail Limited after the sale of Land Recovery to Aggregate Industries, DBI in turn became ESH Rail Services Ltd on 13th February 2026 with Daniel Beecroft as the sole Director

So Land Recovery was sold to Aggregate Industries, who created DBI industries.
Then DBI was rebranded, or was it sold to ESH Rail Services Ltd ?
What about those 60s parked in the quarry ? Did they also become assets of ESH ?
Thanks
