An interesting post on the 350/2 thread shows a recent'ish aerial view of Long Marston.

I do not know whether this covers all of the storage roads at Long Marston, but only a single 458/5 unit is visible. So either the other four 458/5s (prior to today) are elsewhere within the complex, or they have gone elsewhere full stop.
Future of the 350/2s
Rail Magazine is correct regarding 350/2 seating capacity being lower than 323s. 350/2s have 270 seats (246 Standard Class, 24 First Class) 323s have 277 seats. Most of the Northern Network is set up as a 6 car Railway, so without SDO/ASDO the 350/2s can’t lengthen any services with Northern.

Long Marston has two sets of roads on either side of the site. The image is the eastern set, the western set isn't captured at all. There might be a bit more space not covered off to the right on the eastern set though might not be long enough for a 458/5 to be stored there. Previously there were quite a few of the 458/5s on the western side of the site.

Are we likely to see the other two remaining 458/5s dragged away in the next few weeks? Presumably they can go together in one drag?

Any more info on this. I am hoping this won't put ROG off using 93s on the next drag.
For selfish reasons - I have seen to few of the 93s !.
I would guess one at a time if they are dragged with barrier wagons. That is because I assume that might mean the 458/5 was unbraked so there would be a limit on what two 93s with brakes and two (presumably braked) barrier wagons are allowed to handle.
Were any of the other (five ?) 458/5s taken to Long Marson as pairs ?.
I do not recall if the previous 458/5s even went with barrier wagons.

At the start of the 458/4 conversion programme the first two units, 458507 & 458517, initially went to Long Marston rather than direct to Widnes. However, they were moved separately three days apart on 21.01.22 & 24.01.22. The locos involved were 37611 + 37510 & 37611 + 57312 top and tailing. The fact that they were not taken as a pair would suggest a restriction due to train length or brake force or for some other reason.

On the SWR website, the 455 is still being listed as in service, so it looks like the only people who realise it’s not is us (and the passengers that no longer have to put up with them)

Oh yeah of course, the fact that SWR now has a fully air conditioned fleet for the summer, as well as having toilets on every train, is incredible news.And the passengers who don't have to put up with them anymore.

Apologies if this isn't the correct thread to ask but, does anyone know if the 455s are all gone from Derby works now?
There are still some there, including blue and grey 5868. However the numbers are slowly dwindling as individual vehicles are removed by road.

Any idea of what is left in terms of unit identification?
Dont forget also, that there might still be some rotting away at Sims, Newport, tied up in the administration tangle as to who owns what and what to do with it ! There has not been a report from Newport for some months - I believe it was back in January when it was confirmed that there were still complete units there.
The past two 458/5s to be dragged away were 3 or 4 months after their last passenger service. The commercial agreements or required handback activities aren't public, I'd expect that to be the reason for the gap and from memory think other 458/5s have had similar gaps.
The two remaining ones were pulled in quick succession in mid March. If a similar timescale it wouldn't be until June or July for the moves to Long Marston.

In the Facebook group article, click the comments and there are some pictures of SIMS Newport, assume recent. Not my photos but belong to Gary one of the group contributors. I did not need to log into Facebook to see them despite the login prompt!
