Was on Bedford cauldwell yesterday morning. Had a look inside (from a distance) and looks very smart.

Would make sense, it's not been in service for a few days, been sat in Eastcroft since Wednesday.

I know a 158 was sent out to Bristol for the full overhaul, but following 773/774/799 being completed interior-only in Eastcroft is there/will there be another unit undergoing the interior treatment there or not, and if so what unit?

AIUI the Angel owned sets are being done at Barton Hill, Porterbrook sets at Eastcroft.
The Crewe - Etches paths are in for every Sunday as a place holder for when the swaps do happen.

You mentioned that it gets wrapped, is this just effectively a ‘sticker’ of sorts over the old livery, and if so do the units sent out to Bristol get this treatment too or just the Eastcroft units, and how durable is the wrap, won’t it peel overtime? I was always under the impression the Bristol units received an entire repaint not just being wrapped.
Most of the ex-TfW/GA 170s were wrapped prior to entering service with EMR and they seem to still be going on ok
A question based on observation that I have noticed on the refurbished EMR 170s.
On the 13th April, I did 170501 from Nottingham to Derby and yesterday I did 170505 both of which are refurbished and for some reason after leaving Spondon the automated announcement says that the next station is Duffield which is also shown on the PIS rather than Derby.
Any particular reason why Derby is getting omitted cause it could cause confusion to passengers who think the next stop actually is Duffield?

It's recently made a number of nocturnal journeys to St Pancras from Corby (last one yesterday morning) , making the station calls of the Connect service.
Not clear why there's the need for test runs to check out the new 2+2 seating though - or has there been some major modification to the doors? When I've seen it slumbering in the sun at Kettering & it looks externally unchanged.

It’ll be shakedown runs most likely, as was the case with the first refurbished Pendolino and Voyager units when they were first released. Not sure why it’s taking so much longer with the 360s though
158777 should be back in service next week, in its old colours.
158813 next in at Eastcroft possibly this weekend and should be the first external done there.
170509 arrived back at Etches Park on Thursday with 510 now at Crewe.

Passed eastcroft yesterday and didn't see anything in the shed there (both doors were open), so probably onto final testing with 777.

I wonder if it is the new PIS system going through it's paces, might also explain why it's not been out and about in service (could be compatability issues between the old and new systems), or testing they work together.
You'll struggle to see any current refurb units in the shed at the very back of the depot from the running lines in either direction, the main depot isn't used for refurbishments but has recently expanded for that reason
