Honestly I’d say with the experience you’ve got more chance than most however I know someone who applied 12 times and eventually got it so you really do just have to keep trying, I just hope all the applications are being acknowledged

12 times wow. Just shows upu how many folk are applying. I remember a good few years ago with virgin. Up in Carlisle. The interview group you had people with BA degrees. Ran their own business. Worked as top management level jobs etc ... madness.

Here's me with station GPR staff. And control room experience. That's it.

Then when I applied for grand Central when they were going to.run Blackpool North to London Euston services with HST units I think it was... I got to interview in Blackpool in some office block... people were from London!!! And abroad... up I'm Blackpool ... it's a jungle out there in Britain for jobs.

I didn't get it... lucky because then covid struck and grand Central scrapped their plans.

I haven’t began the training yet but for the assessment day you done 3 different activities in groups and the fina was you got interviewed by 3 different members of staff. If you passed that you done a follow up video interview not sure how other TOCs done there process

From when attended in Jan'. No OPC tests at all. More group exercises and similar to that and a speed dating style interview method at 10 mins each with 3 members of staff. After that a Q&A session and the end of the day, if pass that should get a invite to do a video interview.

Yes as was initial one. Believe for those for Stirling afterwards was done in Stirling. Not sure how it would be for London based.

Not a bad score, The other 'team' was against got around that. The ones was with we got 6 or 8.

It’s an assessment you do there, you’re better off not knowing more, because the assessment isn’t really about the answer, but how you come to it.

It seems that Lumo have run numerous assessment centre days over the last couple of months. I had mine in January and got a conditional job offer in February. Passed my medical last week and just waiting on the formal offer.

Hi Dave, it was a 15 min informal chat with the director of ops. They asked a couple of questions and I just did my best to make myself sound good. Very relaxed. Heard back a few days later by email.
