Luggage trolleys at Nottingham

I've not been able to find any luggage trolleys at Nottingham. Are there any hidden away somewhere; if not why not?
It's pretty poor of EMR not to provide such basics at a major station.

Afaik there aren't any at Nottingham.

Well considering that it states you should only have the luggage that you can manage yourself without assistance then they are not a requirement, although I do agree that they are a useful tool to have at any major station just to make life easier

It's more that pretty much all luggage comes with its own wheels now. Must be years since I last saw someone using a luggage trolley at a railway station.

Can't remember the last time I saw luggage trolleys in use anywhere. They seem to be mostly a thing of the past; luggage has wheels now and people have to manage their own baggage on and off trains.

There's a few still going at Aberdeen station. Some people do seem to take the lack of any luggage restrictions on London-bound trains as a challenge.

I must use different trains than other people. I have maybe 5 times in my lifetime seen people utterly take the mick, e.g. a chest of drawers being loaded into the van area of a 150 at Preston years ago. A family of four with a medium case each is not even a third of their NRCoT allowance, and is even allowed on Lumo. The people with what is claimed to be a large amount of luggage on here usually just have something like that but being handled by one family member.

I had a lot of luggage last weekend - my full NRCoT allowance, indeed, of two large items and one small - and it was quite awkward to handle as a fully able bodied adult. Not something I'd do for fun, and I've only done it 3 times (one of them when I was moving abroad for a year) and seen it single figures of times in my travels over the years.

Very occasionally you see people moving house by train with a lot of luggage. But it is VERY rare in my experience. Much more common is an airline hand luggage case (or slightly bigger) per person, which is not excessive in any way. It only becomes a problem on board because people are too lazy to put such cases in the overheads, or (given mention of Nottingham) that 22x overheads are not big enough to take them.

There were a few by platform 2 when I walked by tonight but was in a bit of rush so didn't notice if they were still in use.

Wheels, and particularly handles, can break. I was glad of a trolley at Gatwick on Sunday.

Wow. They must be well hidden! I've been using Nottingham station for 40 years and I've never noticed one! (But then I suppose I've never looked.)

Yes, Leamington Spa, has two small luggage trolleys,

Probably other train stations will have them to, but go unnoticed.

But probably the Bigger ones like Birmingham New Street, will use the Electric Buggies, and other stations quite well maybe will utilise two members of dedicated. Staff to move luggage on assistance duties anyway.
