I see the new Camp Hill line has so far led to two new easements, neither of which I understand
Firstly:
What is special about this one station on the Camp Hill line, and the one station on the cross-city line?
Both stations (and all the other stations between Birmingham New Street and Kings Norton on both lines) share two routeing points - "G02 Birmigham [sic] Group" and "Barnt Green".
While the Routeing Guide section A states: "Some origins and destinations have more than one common routeing point. The permitted route is the shortest of the alternatives", the Routeing Guide section F does not say the same, stating: "If there is a common routeing point, the permitted route is the shortest route or a route which is longer by no more than 3 miles. Also permitted is the route followed by direct trains to and from the common routeing point if the journey is made on those trains." (my emphasis)
So that latter says to me that going via either Kings Norton or New Street should be fine, and indeed the National Rail journey planner will happily give you journeys from e.g. Pineapple Road to University via either Kings Norton or New Street, with the same ticket. (It will also give you journeys from Kings Norton to Kings Heath or Selly Oak via New Street (going up one line, down the other), but interestingly not Kings Norton to Pineapple Road or Bournville...)
Secondly:
https://enrgbrowser.com/easements/701515/2026-03-06 says this is actually implemented to Droitwich or Hereford, and I don't know what the "Camp Hill" reference means. So this easement is actually, if I understand it right, "Passengers travelling from Pineapple Road/Kings Heath/Moseley Village to Droitwich Spa or Hereford can also travel via Birmingham New Street"? Which makes sense. And the journey planner does also offer via New Street for eg Pineapple Road to Bromsgrove or Great Malvern.

Firstly:
701516 Passengers travelling from Kings Heath to Selly Oak can travel via Kings Norton or Birmingham New Street. This Local easement applies in both directions.
