The BBC are reporting that the station building has gone up in flames. It is occupied by an Indian restaurant. Pictures show the roof to have gone and the subsequent affect on railway services.

A fire at a Suffolk railway station restaurant has led to the cancellation of train services across two counties.

Fire crews were called at about midnight to Oulton Broad North station in Lowestoft, where they found the roof alight at an Indian restaurant based at the platform.
Greater Anglia said the "serious fire" had caused "severe damage to a building at the station", leading to services being cancelled between Lowestoft, Norwich and Ipswich, external.
Crews managed to extinguish the blaze by 06:00 BST, but remained at the scene to tackle any hot spots.

Roads around the station have been reopened, but fire crews have asked residents to avoid the area if possible.
Network Rail said disruption on the trains was expected until about 12:00.
Suffolk Police and the East of England Ambulance Service also attended the scene, but the fire service said no injuries were reported.

From early afternoon services resumed albeit running non-stop through Oulton Broad North in the down direction. Sods law that a points failure at Whitlingham Jcn has caused a current suspension of all Wherry Line services. The junction must be locked in the Wroxham direction.

Lovely old building which hopefully can be saved.

Whitlingham is the junction for the Bittern/Wherry lines. Wensum Jcn was where Crown Point Panel is now for the curve round to Trowse Swingbridge.

I believe it has been attributed to a potential refrigerator fire. Not the first time we've seen a building go up due to an electrical fault from a fridge in the UK.

Though what with all the windows being either painted over or boarded up with signs, it looks like it was a most unattractive curry house.

I believe it has been attributed to a potential refrigerator fire. Not the first time we've seen a building go up due to an electrical fault from a fridge in the UK.

Perhaps the boarded up windows were meant to make the inside look the black hole of Calcutta .. ..which I believe is some minor city (Kolkata) in India ..
