I’m thinking of going by train tomorrow from home (Lichfield City) to Kings Norton, just so I can return via the reopened Camp Hill line. Does an ‘any permitted’ Lichfield - Kings Norton return allow me to do that, please?

National Rail Enquires says it can be done on one ticket, so it's a valid route.

National Rail Enquiries (and certain other sites that use SilverRail as their journey planner) also says you can do various journeys via Scotland that clearly shouldn't be valid, so take it with a pinch of salt! (NRCoT notwithstanding, of course.)
