Reserve seat on Avanti without ticket

Is there anyway to do this? For a train tomorrow morning.

No point buying the ticket tonight if I don't know if travel will even be going ahead, especially with the new refund rules. No luck with the Avanti twitter team.

Chances are you will find a seat, I've been on very busy services but managed to find one. When I do travel on the day with Avanti I really don't treat finding a seat as a gamble.

Generally true. If flexible look for 11 car sets, there is almost always space in one of the three unreserved coaches (U, C and one other I forget, G?) on these, as a lot of people think "reservations compulsory" is actually true so these coaches are often lightly loaded. Avoid if possible any other coach as it is possible to reserve a seat from under someone. If a 5, 7 or 9 car the chance is lower but still mostly good.
