The 255 used to see deckers when the trio of Hamilton - Glasgow routes interworked. i’ve had a fair few Gemini’s and 400MMC’s on it!

, in recent years I’ve visited I’ve used the 240/255 at least 3 times and it’s mostly been/been on was Streetlites, I’m just surprised that they have CCTV and data from the app (assuming here on app), that maybe should reconsider double deckers on (if the routes don’t go near bridges of course, non local here lol)== Doublepost prevention - post automatically merged: ==
If it’s possible on the 255 for me it’s at least additional capacity, personally for me that morning from Tollcross (1130-45) to The Forge I felt the bus was going to get overcrowded with people standing, on the other it did drop a bit when people got off (but then you have to consider the elderly/disabled and having buggies on board it’s tight).

The stretch of road from tollcross to gallowgate is mega busy and does have lots of buses but the buses tend to run together meaning you often have a 2 , 61 , 240/255 all with in a minute or 2 then 10 to 15 min wait

First historically coordinated multiple services to provide a balanced frequency on corridors such as the one you’ve mentioned but for some reason they no longer do this.

Looks like 33397 and 33398 have been transferred to Blantyre - both now tracking on the 18.

The 255 like the 263 gets decker's sometimes. Much preferable to have a decker over a single and especially a streetlite.
The 201 sometimes gets decker too.
I always thought there was a low bridge on the 201/240 route.
Someone was complaining about the AI timetables for the X25 as they are hard to read and locations not obvious. This is true and I doubt First will print paper timetables now.

All information on the Lanarkshire changes which came into operation from last Sunday has been deleted from the First Glasgow website including the revised map and individual route maps for the new services.
The diversion information for the ongoing Union Street closure also seems to have been removed and the Cathedral Street closure diversion information from last night is difficult to find and only mentions some of the routes affected.

And nothing said about the express services to Kirkintilloch, Cumbernauld, Motherwell etc
The express buses are diverting round the back of COGC and going back to normal route at Stirling Road, serving that last stop before the motorway as normal. The only stops being missed are the ones on Cathedral Street, meaning there's not as much point in showing the diversion.

It’s absolutely necessary they give details on the diversion for the express services. Midland Bluebird have noted quite clearly on their website and app the diversion taken by the X36 and X37.

Interesting that First would publish details of a diversion for buses running private to/from the depot which has absolutely no impact on passengers but there appears to be nothing with regards to the major ongoing diversions due to the Cathedral Street and Union Street closures unless someone with eagle eyes can find them

With regards to tap on tap off, can you still ask for a paper single paying by card? Usually the driver gets you to tap on even if you ask for a single.

I find it’s dependant on the driver. Asked for a single a month ago and the driver encouraged me to tap on/off. Yesterday, I asked for a single, didn’t say anything more and got a ticket.

If you want a single ticket paying by card just say you want a single and you need the ticket for a receipt, just don't fire your card on to the machine right away cause that's it charged you a £3.25 single right away unless you tap off after a couple of stops it'll be £2.45, You want a paper ticket just say you're paying a single you need the ticket for a receipt you should be fine
Yes, some drivers are persistent you tap on. This is overall and not just First Glasgow. I was down South and a guy in front of me asked for a single and got a ticket but I asked the same and got told to tap on.
From a driver’s perspective TOTO is the way forward.
Too many chancers asking for 5 stop single when they are going a lot further.
Loading times are a lot quicker and if you’re on a route you are less familiar with you don’t need to work out where McGlumpher Crescent is.
It does require educating people on how to use it properly though (tapping out) and some drivers don’t have the willpower. Not tapping out on an 89 at Springburn is going to leave someone with a £7.05 single.

It would be £7.05. The 89 extends well beyond the city zone. That’s my point - not tapping out in Springburn will assume you travel to Kilsyth.

I see 38600 has returned to ADL. I imagine with the ZEB3 funding not including any orders for the new E400EV as rumoured it is a non-standard vehicle in the fleet. Perhaps another operator may purchase it?

Not only that but there seems to be an issue with the screen displaying the number on the left and the end destination and via points scrolling. I’m sure there’s also a Streetdeck repower kicking about with a similar issue.

I used to love when something of this size turned up on a main bus route! One bus stop in the city and you were full love an easy life!
I remember the 166 that ran to East Kilbride. No one knew it pretty much took the same route as the 66. Used to get a Merc Beaver to myself.
