I wonder if it’s depot requirements, I passed my DMI a week after you did, I’ve had and passed my medical, all background and employment checks done, signed the contract and start the training course on the 27th of April for Bletchley.

Anybody else on here also on the April course?

Here is an up to date list of which routes and tractions that the LNWR and WMR drivers sign at each depot.

This was posted in another thread but could be useful to see where numbers are needed. You can see the amount of links per depot to the amount of drivers.

I think it is mate, nice to know there’s others from Wolves in same boat.

I did come across that bud, wolves to Bletchley is a 1:4 ratio so there is obviously much higher numbers.

Happy to hear you’re all good to go mate.

Sorry just managed to open the link. How do I understand which depots have higher requirements?

Hi All,

New here! Never worked in the rail industry before. Does anybody know when the next batch of scheduled courses are after that?

Good luck everyone who is still undergoing the process!

Hi Folks. Just heard that I passed my stage 1 OPC (last Thu 19th March in Birmingham). Email suggested it may be a while before they got back in touch for stage 2, however 5 mins later another email arrived inviting me to book on, in Watford on 1st May!

After applying in 2024, it feels like things are moving at pace (finally!)

Any suggestions of best revision materials for the computer based tests would be appreciated :)

Congratulations, I believe we may have shared the same stage 2 assessment. (I managed to pull the keyboard apart on the joystick exam). Also passed my DMI this week with a view to starting in June.

Hi just got an email saying I've passed stage 1 and onto my stage 2. The email states it will consist of Vienna test SJT exercise and the MMI. Just asking if people who have recently sat it got the same?
I've read through the previous posts who say that the computer tests were the Atavt test, one involving a joystick and a test involving a square that changes colour? Are these the same? Did you have to do a Situational judgment exercise?
Thanks in advance

Hi, I received an email to book the group stage 1 Opc on Friday within 2 days but it went to my junk and have only just seen it. So I haven’t booked on so they have emailed saying my application has been withdrawn. Is there anything I can do
Thanks

Unfortunately I don't think there is. Sorry to hear you missed your email.

Yes they are the same test. The SJT is done after you find out you passed your computer tests. The SJT is not a pass or fail but they are looked at by the interview team who do your MMI

Not being funny, but when I was waiting for an important recruitment Email like this I was checking all my folders every few hours.

At least you know for next time.

I understand what you are saying but previous emails from wmt didn’t go in to my junk, I have been checking my junk folder every week.
I had done my last assessment in November and didn’t realise I would only have 2 days to respond if I received an email.

Thank you for responding, I have replied to their email, but not holding much hope

For anyone that has passed your DMI hopefully you won't be waiting too long.

I did my DMI on 26th March. Found out I passed 1 hour later. Today I have received my offer of employment and have just completed my security checks, reference checks etc. I have been given a start date of 1st June.

It all seems to be moving very quickly now.

Hope to see some of you on the June course

That's amazing, congratulations!

I'm hoping after the last stage I've just completed I will be straight through to DMI, any advice?

Advice for DMI is to make sure you have good knowledge of the company. Just prepare for your interview and make sure you take the time to remember good examples and then practice them in the star format. Good luck to you

Hi all, just wondering if anyone can remember their DMI questions. I unfortunately didn’t get past the first lot as I got myself too nervous and I’m not the strongest at interviews. So was hoping for a little bit of help if anyone could lend it?

Good luck to anyone who progressed to MMI/DMI today at the OPC stage 2. I’m pretty gutted to say that I didn’t pass the 2 hand coordination test to the WMR enhanced standard. I know why I think which may help others - I took quite a bit of time to make sure I didn’t make mistakes, but I think I went too slowly. I say this as someone who did get the enhanced level said he made lots of mistakes. I also found the joysticks to be somewhat unresponsive at times (for any fellow gamers imagine a controller with stick drift). It espeically hurts as I’m a professional guitarist so thought I’d nail that one! Ah well. If anyone would like further insight into anything for Stages 1 or 2 OPC feel free to message me but it’s the end of the road for me for a year now as I can’t apply for any WMR/LNWR roles. Thanks for all of the advice on here up to now and good luck to anyone progressing. T ✌️

Congratulations to all those who have passed their DMI’s over the last couple of weeks.

The process will move pretty quickly now with the onboarding and background checks.

A couple of people have asked about the medical so I thought I would list what you are in for.

This was what happened on the day.

Basic eye test to see what is the smallest text you can read.
Hearing test where you sit in a booth with headphones on and press a button when you can hear a noise in each ear.
Drugs test where you pee in a pot, alcohol test is a breathalyser.
Height and weight to calculate your BMI.
Basic mobility test to check your arms and legs move freely and see if you can touch your toes.
ECG where they hook you up to a load of wires with sticky pads and the monitor your heart for less than a minute.
Blood pressure check.
General medical history questions.

Nothing more than that and very relaxed.

I start on the 27th of April, the first 2 days are Birmingham for company induction, a couple of days ago we were asked to choose our safety shoes and Hi Vis Vest size. Uniform will be ordered through the company portal once you start and will be expected at company induction.

Once you find others on the same course, start a WhatsApp group, we have one for the 27th April starting and it’s quite nice to ask each other questions and get to know people. If anyone else is starting on the April course let me know and I can add you to the group. I have heard that course sizes are normally 8 people.

No, got the email yesterday. If anyone can shed some light as to what is best to review on these before talking them? Although they appear to me to be situational judgement style so I’m guessing just focus on safety first with a focus on customer service?
Have you heard anything from they yet?
