Why are these earmarked for the X98/99 when we have new, already liveried vehicles on the route?

The MMCs were a stop gap until the Evoras would arrive. 20308 has already had its X98/X99 route branding removed. I believe the MMCs will transfer elsewhere within the EY Group, although I wouldn't be surprised if 20305 moves to Pocklington as it was originally intended for and part of the batch with 20302-4 that went on the X45, with 20305 originally receiving 'North Riding' branding.

If its for the Eldwick services, they'll need a fair few more vehicles than the 4 MMCs on the X98/X99 as the current PVR is 10.

My understanding is 20305-8 will go to Scarborough as replacements for the 4 19 reg MMCs that were transferred out for North Riding work

Good Friday
Most of our buses will run to a Sunday timetable, but there are a few exceptions:

Services 12 & 14 - Foxwood | Woodthorpe | York | Monks Cross or Haxby. These will run to a Saturday timetable; however, the following journeys will not operate:

08:10 York Station → Woodthorpe, 09:20 Askham Bar → Woodthorpe, 14:25 Piccadilly → Woodthorpe

08:35 Woodthorpe → York Station, 09:40 Woodthorpe → Stonebow, 15:05 Woodthorpe → Piccadilly

Keep in mind some of the services are for less density towns and cities so a Sunday service in Hull could be equivalent to a Saturday in another town or city

It’s more that Good Friday has regional variations that have been the same for decades, it isn’t Hull getting singled out

For example it’s a Saturday service in West Yorkshire but in Manchester, even with the Bee Network, it’s a Sunday service

Alright guys, i was down at Anlaby Road today and obviously as a busspotter, visiting EY depot is like a shopaholic shopping at Tesco...

Anyways so here are some observations:

1. An open top B7TL with light blue under its window
2. 20811 now has a back advert like the 69 plates
3. 20818 in the coach bit in new EY livery
4. YN65 something
5. 20891 I suspect still outside the body shop
6. 20924 on pits

This means that on Good Friday, the second busiest food shop day, they get an identical service to Easter Sunday when the shops are closed.

Whether or not that is accurate about food sale volumes (any peak is probably related to family gatherings so most people are driving as the size of the shop is too large to carry by public transport anyway) that is not true about passenger numbers, in areas where we provide a Saturday service level on Good Friday (due to council requests/tradition) the numbers are very poor. Good Friday is a good Sunday or a very weak Saturday in terms of passenger numbers and demand only starts picking up around lunchtime generally.

I guess it's some dinosaur union agreement, but it's crazy that Hull has a Sunday service on Good Friday while York, Scunthorpe and Grimsby don't!

Incidentally, they've been active on doing dummy runs of the 35 again last few days - normally about five to seven minutes behind the service bus to avoid confusion

Im not sure regarding dinosaur union agreement but anything that allows more staff to have family time is a good thing in my opinion. From my experience in the east midlands good friday was much quieter loadings wise. Late shifts especially if a match day were by far the busiest

Go Anywhere day ticket goes from £17.20 to £9, weekly ticket goes from £53.30 to £36.00, 30 days from £179.30 to £117 (but only valid 28 days). Some hefty savings there. The new duo tickets are also a great idea. Savings may not be quite so much for some of the areas that see their local zone tickets removed.

Strangely enough though, the Go Anywhere fares do not cover their full network. Ripon and Boroughbridge are left out for starters, as is Easingwold and the villages east towards Helmsley. Half of York, with the Y12/Y14 to Woodthorpe and buses up Holgate Road mostly cut out. That's before you consider the Procters services in North Yorkshire as well. Hopefully this is rectified.
