Curious. The Scotrail app and RTT both suggest that those services are running as booked but having checked the WON myself you are indeed correct. Will see what happens on Monday.
Realtime Trains suggests that the relevant passenger Dundee<>Glasgow services via the Forth Bridge operated as booked on Monday 19 January 2026, along with a number of engineering trains during the later part of the evening.

Its not an arched bridge but im surmising the wire height through the station platforms has to be at a minimum which may be the issue.
If that does turn out to be the issue then there is perhaps the possibility of extending the platforms west and decommissioning the eastern end of the platforms closest to the bridge.

Some Pictures from today around Lennymuir and Turnhouse. I had assumed that the works being carried out during the weeks possession was for installing the wires. Turns out to be Only Track Lowering and Drainage Works Under the 2 Road Bridges. Pictures don't really show it but looks to be a reasonable amount

Not sure if anyone knows, but is the green bridge at South Gyle temporary or is it the permanent bridge?

I don't know for a fact, but it looks quite substantial and well-built for a temporary structure.
It's considerably narrower than the bridge it has replaced. I know it only offers access to the station car park, but still seems short sighted.

Was the footbridge at Dalmeny repaired/replaced during this recent work?
Nope, Dalmeny is currently north of the works taking place south of the bridge.

Permanent. Just a footbridge now, I haven't had a look at the station car park, but I presume that this is getting altered as half of it was only accessible over the bridge.

You can see some of the electrification works by the runway at Edinburgh Airport in YouTuber Steve Marsh's video that he took in December. If the link below doesn't go directly to the right timestamp. It's at 20m57s.

I contacted network rail asking about when the wires will be installed between Saughton and Dalmeny, and got a very helpful and informative response! I also received this attached to a letter which was sent to the locals of the line. IMG_1014.jpeg

Here's a full video of what's new:

As mentioned by one of my friends, wiring has commenced around the Lennymuir area as well.
It seems both sides of masts have registration arms, but one side is beginning to have wires.IMG_1256.png

In that picture, looks like they've started with contact rather than catenary wire which is odd. But I suspect this might be a contenary area which could explain that

Co located arrangement of both CONtact and caTENARY wires at the same height at low clearance locations
Or as near as damnit. While most low clearance areas have a "system height" (difference in height between catenary & contact) of 0mm, some contenary arrangements have 30mm system heights the last time I checked.

Thanks to @AMD for the video, what type of OLE is this? Seen at the bridge near Edinburgh airport over the river almond:

It's also UKMS, like the Series 2 cantilevers. Unlike the Series 2 cantilevers (part of Bonomi's Omnia range), these are from Furrer + Frey's UKMS-R1 range, originally designed for Mark 1/GE reconstructions on the routes out of Liverpool St & Fenchurch St. These, and the goose-necked Single Insulator Cantilevers, are now visible as far east as Beaulieu Park on the GEML and Pitsea on the LTS corridor*.
All the cantilevers within the UKMS overarching design range can be used interchangeably.
As to why these cantilevers are being used instead of the others, I would imagine it's due to needing a larger encumbrance/system height (the gap between the catenary & contact wires) to allow for longer spans between masts/portals etc.

For UKMS100 (11kN catenary & 11kN contact, which I imagine would be being used here), the maximum normal span length is 72m. For normal span lengths, the system height is 1.3m. After that point, system heights increase in 0.1m intervals for every 3-4m of span length added, until a 95m span is reached, where the system height reaches an impressive 2.0m. UKMS125 pushes things even further, but that's for another thread.

(*newer registrations are only on the Tilbury Loop (i.e. Barking-Grays-Tilbury-Pitsea) and are not entirely continuous)
