A press release on Devon Live says Torquay will getting six 25-seat minibuses, a dozen 31-seat ‘midibuses’ and 37 double-deckers, each of which has 73 seats. That matches the total figure of 54 quoted above but not the split in vehicles types. Time will tell. For those who enjoy local news reports and adverts the link is https://www.devonlive.com/news/devon-news/torbays-silent-revolution-unveils-new-10861636. The text is below.
For Torquay I had
Enviro 400EVs - 80260-293 - 34 total
Yutong E10s - 63136-147 - 12 total
Enviro100EVs - 46048 - 46050 - 3 total
Yutong U11 DDs - 83023-83025 - 3 total
Yutong E9s - 45101-103 - 3 total

This would make the total figure 55 . The difference I have is Enviro100EVs 46041-47 down for Barnstaple but plans could have changed from my list as some of the batch are in service in Torquay.

It is possible that because Barnstaple aren't fully ready for electric buses and 46041 and 46047 were ready, they were pushed into service before they get transferred up to North Devon.

Would you have the numbers of Exeter's proposed double deckers? I'm assuming that the 20 Volvos and the 10 double decker Yutongs will be it for Exeter.

Not sure about Volvos but Yutongs should be 83026-35

Thank you. The Volvos are 66101-120. For some reason, 66114 has taken a trip up to Walsall in a rubbed down undercoat. No one on the Facebook group really explained why so if someone could shed some light on this, it would be appreciated.

That's going to send my first bus brain into overdrive! I'm sure I'll get used to it over time! :s They do look rather snazzy!

My only thoughts are it has to be coming out of Steel Blue, possibly for some form of specialist livery - ie a route branding?

If it’s not that. It will just be redone. Though having seen other MCV factory paint jobs, they aren’t great.

Indeed, Arriva Merseyside & Cymru's Evora's are all going through repaints despite being 72 plates......

I'm not sure if this a previously agreed sum or a new round of Zebra, but DCC has been awarded £7.5 million for more bus purchases Route One
I see South (Hampshire) didn’t win anything out of this round, but the Isle of Wight (supplemented by GA themselves) did rather well.

90 buses? Could that electrify Devon's entire fleet?
Not Plymouth unfortunately as Stagecoach aren't part of the electrification here, only Go Ahead . I am sure we will get a lot of cascades from Exeter and Torbay though

DCC BSIP Funds alongside funding some buses are going to a “new livery”

Tomorrow will the last day of Tridents operating in Torbay. 18513 will be the last operating Tridents in the area, due to finish operations late in the evening. As confirmed by various drivers on Facebook. I'm not sure about the status of Plymouth's Tridents.

Very sad to hear that and despite this being inevitable, I am slightly surprised they are all going at once - Some of the MX08 E400’s were noted on bus times as withdrawn so I thought it may be a free for all with how the withdrawal process goes.

18079 I suspect may have been dual tracking on Plymouth and Torquay routes (80 is not a Torquay route from what I gather) so no idea if that has actually moved to Plymouth or if it’s another vehicle using that ID.

It has moved to Plymouth indeed. The Torquay route is 36145 masquerading as a more interesting bus.

Yes, the MX08s were all in a pretty awful condition when they were transferred down. 19281 didn't even make it into service (thank god it didn't, that Subway advert looked horrific)

I believe since then, 19268, 19271, 19273 and 19278 have all been withdrawn. 19273 might genuinely be the worst bus Exeter has ever had. All withdrawals are a mixture of chassis rot and other major repairs needed.

Just seen that MP for Exeter has said that the first electric services in Exeter will be starting in April.

They also mentioned that the Stagecoach fleet in Exeter will be fully electric by the end of 2027.

If the entire fleet is to be electrified they'd better get on with clearance work at Tan Lane.

I’ve just seem on the tracker that 18513 has been at the terminus for the 22 this evening for about 15 minutes, given that it’s the final Trident run in service as a whole for Torquay, I can imagine many enthusiasts will have turned out to mark this moment. Sad to see them go!

That seems to be pretty standard elsewhere too, a number of the MX08s transferred to South were also in poor condition and thus kept a number of Tridents alive. I travelled on one recently which came complete with Manchester vandalism too.

Does anybody know why only some of the electric buses in Torbay have the "Funded by the UK Government/ In partnership with Torbay Council" transfers on them and with the e400's why it's sometimes at the front between decks and sometimes at the rear?

One of Exeter's new Volvos, 66114, has been painted into the new "Devon Bus' scheme. Finishing touches are still needed, of course.

At least it’s not wish washy yellow. Better not run it anywhere near Taunton though. First might think it is one of theirs.

My thoughts exactly, plus my first bus brain can get my head around the 661XX number scheme. :s
