I think its likely, they've had loads sat for quite a while at the site near littles, the only photo on flickr is of it working for Glasgow Airport.
I knew that Streetlite registration rang a bell. It was parked in the yard at Winsons, Loughborough in January 2025. Here is my picture of it.

Looks like a Yutong has made an (unplanned) debut on the 9 this lunchtime. This means that all of the planned services have now been operated with the electrics.
Given there appears to be 4 spares I suspect the entire non 2025 or newer fleet with the exception of the DRT minibuses and probably 498 as a spare for DRT and Skylink in emergencies will be transferred imminently.

One of the Versas 822? seems to have moved on, according to a staff member on bustimes. As you rightly say, a bus will be needed to cover for the DRT.

I suspect 107/108 will probably stay also as spares primarily for skylink

Having had a particularly sluggish and rough sounding journey on a Sixes Versa, I think it'd be pointless to put them on the Swift or Comet, as these routes are very nearly as demanding. I hope this rumour has no truth in it.

Oh I am convinced it will happen. After all, how else could they upgrade those routes?

I am also hoping that this won't happen as nothing seems to have been set fully in stone yet. I still think Derby would rather keep the Volvos on swift/comet for as long as possible rather than having horrible Optares running it!

If the funding allows for it, then why can't new buses be purchased, and as for the sixes versas, why not put them on the my15, and then send the 11 plates off to connect/spares?
Reasonable question. . Okay, how much profit does each of the routes make? Does it cover the purchase of new buses? What kind of new bus type would you buy, that would be suitable for a thrash route?

Evoras would suit well. Suppose its worth looking at if the buses will last a full lifespan on the route

Yet Wellglade seems to discount the EvoRas.
Like the other user said, I would've said that the MCV Evora would've been a good choice for long distance work such as the comet and swift however am I right in saying that trentbarton themselves aren't considering the Evoras due to a seating layout issue? If so then does it really make a huge difference how the seats are mounted?

Yes apparently due to the lack of cantilever seating options. However it was also rumoured that the skylink batch of E200s was to be the last of the ADLs so that limits their options

The Wright GB Kite maybe or citaros? But they got rid of the last citaros due to their higher maintenance/running costs supposedly

So the only other option is probably the Scania Fencer? Unless they start going electric

Honestly personally I think that was more just the enthusiasts making their own speculations up as at the time I mean still do somewhat to be fair but they had alot of troubles with breakdowns and whatever and I think someone put about how it may affect their relationship or whatever but recently ADL sponsored the trentbarton driver awards that they posted about on their website so one would assume their relationship is still good so not saying they won't buy new buses anymore from them but wouldn't say they will or won't till you hear some confirmation of this or rumors from higher internal sources

They evoras would be good but I know they won't buy those but was curious could a company in this case trent barton approach MCV and create a contract of some sort guarantees some buses if they can spec to how they want if the batch is big enough? A bit like how I assume DFT puts contracts out for what they want to train manufacturers

in a way yes they could form an agreement - operator says we'll purchase X amount of buses from you if you can spec/alter them to the way we want our buses (fitting of cantilever seating).

Exactly no one actually knows until the next order is placed in reality - I would assume that they have tried speaking to MCV regarding the seating options and were seemingly told it can’t be done on the current vehicle spec - MCV supposedly have quite a large order book and a yearish wait time on the evora so probably arent currently desperate for orders to the extent they’ll do something off spec - at the time ADL weren’t looking too healthy so were probably very encouraging of any orders they could get pencilled in

In all fairness the E200s don’t fare that bad considering the work they’re thrown at but routes like the comet and swift would definitely take their toll even on new buses

In some cases, leading to MMCs now being replaced by... more MMCs!
To be fair they often renew or refresh brands every 5 to 10 years. They even have older and newer MMCs running side by side on mickleover. Have they ever stuck to one bus type for over 10 years before? Does it have as much of an impact if the new buses look the same as the old ones?

No, which is why they had to conjure a whole new livery for the Skylink Derby!

I suppose it is worth pointing out the Enviro MMC range has been available for a looong time now, in 'modern' bus terms, having surpassed 11 years of production. ADL aren't likely to develop a new diesel model to replace it so will presumably keep building them until everyone's ordering electrics. Few of the bus types TrentBarton have bought over the years have lasted that long in production, except the Solo.

Plus the Enviro 200 MMC is pitched as a one-size-fits-all bus, so routes that would traditionally have completely different types (e.g. Solos/Eclipses) instead just get MMCs of different lengths. Which is why they have basically just been buying the same type of bus continuously instead of switching between different ones for different routes. However the tinted glazing on the newer ones do visually set them apart from the older ones and I'm sure people must notice.

Indeed, they do notice. A woman waiting to get on with a bus chair asked.me to check if the area was clear as she couldn't see. Elsewhere, Notts and Derby Enviro 200 51 was out on the 59 this morning, tracking as 1416.

Perhaps they are all for N&D, the 14xx numbers made me think they were for TM but realised the 14xx is due to the fact they are (former?) hybrids.

Yes, two different types. 18 to 20 are straight diesels, as built. 6 cylinder engine. The 1416 batch are 4 cylinder engine converted from hybrid.. So far, 18, 1417 and 1419 have entered service. If 1418 was the one that arrived in berries livery, that has gone for painting... Not seen 19 yet
