It is indeed 222002 which is currently a 5 car, and apparently 001 is too
Can also confirm the coaches removed from the formation are 60544 (an MSO) and 60342 (an MFO)

222005 also out today currently near near Crewe around 90 late heading towards Preston.
What’s happening to the coaches that’s been take out of these .
Yes I saw it pass Atherstone at about 4pm today heading North, it took a second to realize what it was!
60342 is the 3rd first class coach & 60544 is the 6th coach in which is standard.

Probably because it went south from Preston to Euston and you photographed it on the way back north from Euston to Crewe.I'm confused. The path on Tuesday didn't run. 222004 was allocated today onto 5R60 which did run:

Yes, that's for Lumo training.
ScotRail aren't due to receive any units for training until next year; the interior designs aren't due for sign-off until this December for instance.

Does anyone have any ideas as to whether EMR might pull a farewell tour of sorts for the 222s when the last one goes out, I know they did for the HSTs, but I don’t know if they did for the 180s?
The 180s unfortunately left without such an event (although did spend an extra day in service after their official last day, for football specials)

Livery looks nice and interior comfortable, but the lack of unit number on the nose just makes the front look too big and bright, and the black text across it kind of broke up the vivid yellow.

I must admit that they look super. The 222/6 designation reflects the fact that their tenure in the East Midlands is well and truly over.
